2022 Chevy Camaro Wild Cherry Tintcoat Color Out For Model Year

The 2022 Chevy Camaro is the seventh model year for the latest sixth-generation sports car, introducing just a few changes and updates over the previous 2021 model year. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 Chevy Camaro is no longer available with the Wild Cherry Tintcoat exterior color.

According to GM Authority sources, the Wild Cherry Tintcoat exterior paint option has been built out for the rest of the Chevy Camaro’s 2022 model year. It is currently unclear if the paint option will return for the 2023 model year.

The 2022 Chevy Camaro’s Wild Cherry Tintcoat paint option is tagged with paint code GSK, and was previously available on all trim levels for an extra $495. The Wild Cherry Tintcoat paint was also available in conjunction with all five available interior colors.

As for the specs, the 2022 Chevy Camaro is available with a variety of powertrain options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine, rated at 275 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 295 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 335 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 284 pound-feet of torque at 5,300 rpm, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 gasoline engine, rated at 455 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 455 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm, and finally, the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, rated at 650 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 650 pound-feet of torque at 3,600 rpm.

Under the body panels, the 2022 Chevy Camaro rides on the GM Alpha platform. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, however, as GM Authority covered previously, Chevy Camaro production is offline this week due to an undisclosed parts shortage. In addition to producing the Chevy Camaro, the Lansing facility also produces the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5, both of which are also currently offline in terms of production this week.

  1. Ordered a 2SS 1LE this color last fall. Been patiently waiting for my order to be built…only to see its not going to get built at all.
Time to start looking at other options now I guess…not spending 50k+ on a car that’s a color I don’t want.

What the heck is going on there? Will they even build a 2023 Camaro, and will we able to get warranty maintenance for it?

  14. Ordered September 2021, Waited over 4 months for 2022 2SS convertible (Wild Cherry tint) – stayed at 1100 (no allocation), decided to search Chevrolet Inventory Nationally to find a near identical car (2,000 mile search), found one (1,000 miles away) and flew in and drove it home (January 22). What a way to do business! No discounts – paid list price.

  16. I live in CT. and couldn’t find a camaro LT1 in wild cherry tint coat anywhere in my home state. I found exactly what I wanted with design package 3 and the RS package in wild cherry tint coat. I got lucky at a dealer in R.I., it’s “in transit” from Lansing , Michigan. I have an approximate date of delivery and whenever it gets here is fine with me. Looking forward to my “dream car”…

  17. Wild Cherry Tint Coat will be a collectors color. It was discontinued and replaced with radiant red which looks like a crappy Mazda color.
