The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV hit the track at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi during a special promotional event hosted by local electric vehicle dealership EV Lab.
The EV Lab event was held to familiarize local Dubai car enthusiasts with electric vehicles, giving them a hands-on driving experience with a variety of EVs at the Formula 1 track. Chevy and Bin Hamoodah Auto, Chevrolet’s official dealer partner in Abu Dhabi, sent two Chevy Bolt EUV models to the event, one for participants to drive and another for static display purposes.
“With one vehicle in the showcase, guests got up-close-and-personal with the vehicle, exploring the sleek exterior and spacious interior, guided by experts from EV Lab,” the automaker said in a prepared statement. “Attendees drove the second vehicle around the track to experience the Bolt EUV’s fun-to-drive characteristics, such as One Pedal Driving.”
The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV’s presence at this promotional event is important, as the vehicle will soon begin arriving in the Middle East for local consumption. Ayman Al Bijawi, Sales and Marketing Director at Bin Hamoodah Auto, said the EV Lab event gave the dealership an opportunity to get more local car enthusiasts behind the wheel of the Bolt EUV ahead of its official domestic launch.
“We are always looking for new ways to bring exciting Chevrolet-powered experiences to our customers in Abu Dhabi,” he said. “The Bolt EUV is a stand-out vehicle and, through this partnership with EV Lab, we were able to put customers behind the wheel to experience it for themselves and go some way in convincing even the most passionate petrolhead that driving electric is fun and viable for the daily commute.”
The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV rides on the GM BEV2 platform and features a single front-mounted drive motor rated at 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. A 65 kWh lithium-ion battery provides enough juice for an estimated 247 miles of driving range. Pricing for the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV in the Middle East has not yet been confirmed, however U.S. pricing starts at $33,995 including destination and freight.

It’s kind of mind blowing to me how expensive BEV’s are. A Chevy Bolt EUV starts at $34k USD, that’s the same price as a Chevy Camaro SS with a 6.2L V8 Corvette engine.
This is what frustrates me about this whole BEV thing. A Bolt EV costs $10,000 more than a gas Bolt. People talk about saving money on electric cars. If you drove a gas Chevy Bolt for 5 years I bet you’d save money driving the gas Bolt compared to spending that extra $10,000 on a Bolt EUV.
