The Chevy Blazer crossover first hit the scene for the 2019 model year, with the 2022 Chevy Blazer offered as the fourth model year of the current generation. Now, GM Authority has learned that the Blazer’s Black Accent Package is once again available to order.
Back in February, GM Authority exclusively reported that the Black Accent Package for the 2022 Chevy Blazer was under constraint and unavailable to order. At the time, it was unclear when the package constraint would be lifted. Now, however, the package is again available to order.
The Black Accent Package for the 2022 Chevy Blazer is tagged with RPO code PDM, and is offered as an LPO-level option, which means it is installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced.
The Black Accent Package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Black mesh grille with Black header bar (SJA)
- Front and rear Black Bow Tie emblems (B94)
- Gloss Black emblem kit (RIK)
The 2022 Chevy Blazer offers the Black Accent Package for 2LT, 3LT, and Premier trim levels. However, the package is not offered on RS trims. Pricing is set at $950.
As covered previously, the 2022 Chevy Blazer introduces several changes and updates as compared to the preceding 2021 model year, including a trim level reorganization with the deletion of the base-level L and second-tier 1LT. What’s more, the base-level naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine was also deleted from the lineup.
As for the remaining powertrain options, the 2022 Chevy Blazer is offered with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which is rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Both engines connect to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, while under the skin is the GM C1 platform. Production for the North American takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
