2022 Cadillac CT5 Gets Heated Steering Wheel Back

The 2022 Cadillac CT5 is the third model year for the luxury sedan nameplate, introducing just a few small changes and updates over the preceding 2021 model year, as well as the new go-fast CT5-V Blackwing. Critically, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 Cadillac CT5 is once again available with the heated steering wheel feature.

According to GM Authority sources, new units of the 2022 Cadillac CT5 are once again available with a heated steering wheel, as of March 28th production.

The 2022 Cadillac CT5’s heated steering wheel feature is tagged with RPO code KI3, and was previously under constraint as a result of the global microchip shortage for units produced between December 6th, 2021, and March 27th, 2022.

For 2022, Cadillac CT5 Luxury trims, the heated steering wheel feature is included and only available with the Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19), while Premium Luxury trims only offer the feature with either the Platinum Package (RPO code PCJ), the Super Cruise 2 Package (RPO code WKA), or the Climate Package (RPO code Y6F).

Additionally, 2022 Cadillac CT5 Sport trims offer the heated steering wheel feature with the Platinum Package (RPO code PCJ), Super Cruise 2 Package (RPO WKA), Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19), or Climate Package (RPO code Y6F). Finally, Cadillac CT5-V trims offer a heated steering wheel with the Premium Package (RPO code PCK) and Cold Weather Package (RPO code Y19).

To note, the heated steering wheel was not under constraint for Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing models.

Going forward, 2022 Cadillac CT5 models built between December 6th and March 27th that were not equipped with the heated wheel (but should have been) will eligible for a retrofit at a later date. Unfortunately, the Cadillac CT5 is still facing other feature constraints, as GM Authority has covered previously.

As for the specs, the CT5 features several engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine, and supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine. Under the skin is the GM Alpha 2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan.

  3. I’ve read rumors that the 2023 CT5 will be a fairly significant refresh with both interior (dash setup similar to current gen Escalade) and exterior updates. Any additional info available on that? Thanks in advance.
