2022 Buick Enclave Gets Heated Steering Wheel Back

The 2022 Buick Enclave is the fifth model year for the latest second-generation crossover nameplate, introducing a model refresh consisting of new features, optional equipment, new styling, new safety tech, and more. Now, GM Authority has learned that all units of the 2022 Buick Enclave are once again available with the heated steering wheel feature.

According to GM Authority sources, all units of the 2022 Buick Enclave that would normally be equipped with a heated steering wheel will now include the feature, as of production starting March 28th. Previously, the heated steering wheel feature was under constraint for 2022 Buick Enclave units produced between December 6th, 2021 and March 27th, 2022.

The heated steering wheel feature is tagged with RPO code KI3, and is normally equipped as standard on all trim levels of the 2022 Buick Enclave. To note, the feature was not under constraint for the Enclave Avenir, as every unit of that trim was built with a heated wheel. In other words, the feature constraint only applied to the 2022 Buick Enclave Essence and Premium trim levels.

Although the 2022 Buick Enclave is once again equipped with the heated steering wheel feature, the crossover is still facing further feature constraints as a result of the ongoing global microchip shortage. This includes constraints for heated and ventilated seats, the power-folding third-row seating, as well as front and rear park assist, as GM Authority covered previously.

As a reminder, the 2022 Buick Enclave is offered with a single powertrain option, namely the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine, which connects to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission to drive either the front wheels or all four wheels. The V6 is rated at 310 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 2,800 rpm. Under the body panels, the 2022 Buick Enclave rides on the GM C1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.
