Back in October, General Motors unveiled the fully refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500, showing off a long list of changes and updates for the light-duty pickup. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra is currently unavailable to order with a variety of optional 22-inch wheels.
The 22-inch wheels that are currently unavailable to order for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 include the following (relevant RPO code listed in parentheses):
- 22-inch Bright Chrome six-split-spoke wheels (SF1)
- 22-inch Bright Chrome wheels (SF0)
- 22-inch Bright Chrome multi-spoke wheels (SSW)
- 22-inch Bright Chrome split-spoke wheels (SSI)
- 22-inch High Gloss Black multi-spoke wheels (SRV)
Each of these wheels was offered as an LPO-level option, which means they were installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the truck was initially produced. With that in mind, trucks ordered with these wheels were equipped with four steel 22-inch wheels from the factory with the appropriate alignment specs.
Each of the optional wheels listed above were offered on SLT and Denali trim levels. Each wheel set was priced at $3,495, whereas the 22-inch High Gloss Black multi-spoke wheels (RPO code SRV) were priced at $3,195.
GM Authority previously covered the unavailability of some of these wheels in January. Notably, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is also currently unavailable to order with certain 22-inch wheel options, per previous GM Authority coverage.
With regard to the engine specs, the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 can be equipped with four different engine options, starting with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline (recently uprated to 430 pound-feet of torque), followed by the atmospheric 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the atmospheric 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax.
Like the Chevy Silverado 1500, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 rides on the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

Well, thats a bummer, for u at least
Does anyone even want 22 inch wheels on their truck?
I’m curious, why does have the dealers install these wheels instead of installing them at the factory?
I wonder if Mexico gets the 22″ wheels, and the US is the only country on the do not get list…
