General Motors just launched the refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse in the Middle East, expanding the international reach of Chevrolet‘s updated full-size crossover. The 2022 Traverse arrives in Southwest Asian countries with significant design updates, more trim levels and exclusive finishes that make it the most customizable model in its class.
The refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse goes on sale in the Middle East with a total of six trim levels in addition to Midnight Edition, Sport Edition and Redline Edition packages that were previously unreleased in the region.
“For 2022, we have introduced more choices on the Traverse, ensuring every driver finds the trim that matches their personality. The Midnight and Sport Editions add a new look for LS and LT trims, and the Redline Edition adds a variety of upgrades inside and out to make the Traverse stand out even more,” said Chief Marketing Officer at GM Middle East, Sharon Nishi, in a statement. “The all-new RS trim revolutionizes options for the family who wants a stunning SUV that makes no compromises on performance, technology and safety,” she added.
In perfect harmony with the lineup offered in the U.S. market, the 2022 Chevy Traverse arrives in the Middle East with a wide range of trim levels to suit every lifestyle, including LS, LT, LT Leather, RS, Premier and High Country. In fact, the crossover now features up to four sporty variants specifically designed for young families with an adventurous spirit.
Like all other markets where the nameplate is marketed, all refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse models coming to the Middle East feature the naturally aspirated 3.6L LFY V6 engine rated at 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, mated to GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Available AWD with Off-Road mode improves handling on sand, grass, gravel or loose dirt.
The refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse is available starting this March at the brand’s official dealer network in the Middle East, making it the only market outside of North America where the Traverse is offered with the exact same lineup as in the U.S. market. As such, all trim levels are well equipped and feature the latest technology and safety features currently available on the model.

Not sure why these Traverses are going overseas instead of filling up empty dealer lots here in the good ol USA…
Car buying here in the US isn’t going to be what it once was even after the “chip shortage” is resolved. Manufacturers have been hinting at this for well over a year now. Dealer inventories will be very small and will be comprised of units carrying only the most popular options. The build-to-order sales model will be the predominant method and buyers will be waiting 4-6 weeks to take delivery.
As it stands now, manufacturers have so many orders backed up it will take until 2023 to fill those and then they can focus on the new normal in terms of dealer inventory.
Dealer cronyism at its best.
Welcome to the world of Ford Motor Company, Stellantis and many foreign manufactures. I’ve been a fan of GM for all of my 70 plus years….driving a new Lincoln today. The GM lots in our area are devoid of any new models.
