Here’s When The Cadillac Escalade-V Will Debut: Video

The Cadillac Escalade-V sits at the intersection of opulence and ultra-high-performance, bringing a range-topping supercharged powerhouse to the luxury SUV. Back in January, GM released a short teaser video before finally confirming the Escalade-V’s existence, giving us a first look at the high-performance SUV without giving too much away, but that’s soon going to change.

The Cadillac Escalade-V will finally debut on May 11th, 2022. Cadillac and GM promise to “reveal the pulse-pounding specs, details and availability of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V,” according to a press release. The debut will take place on the luxury marque’s website.

“Cadillac’s V-Series is the ultimate expression of Cadillac design, performance and technology and the purest expression of the passion that exists at the core of the Cadillac brand,” the press release reads. “V-Series has always represented a potent blend of refinement and power, offering unique, bold, performance-inspired styling with head-turning presence. The 2023 Escalade-V is the first SUV to don the V-Series badge and joins the V-Series fourth-generation lineup.”

That Cadillac V-Series lineup currently includes the CT4-V and CT5-V high-performance sedans, along with the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. We expect the ultra-high-performance luxury SUV to harness a supercharger bolted to the 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine featured in several of GM performance vehicles, including the Cadillac CTS-V, Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, Chevy Camaro ZL1, and C7 Corvette Z06. Under the hood of the Blackwing, the supercharged eight-cylinder makes 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. It’s likely that the Escalade-V’s output will differ from that of the super sedan.

Ever since we caught wind of the ultra-high-performance SUV, GM Authority has kept an eye out for it. We first heard the Escalade-V roar way back in January of last year, when we snagged some video of a prototype vehicle undergoing road testing. Since then, we’ve spied other prototypes undergoing road tests in Michigan, including an extended-length ESV variant. We also found yet another example undergoing high-altitude testing in Colorado. More recently, we were able to get up close and personal with an Escalade-V and heard just how menacing its exhaust sounds while revving.

Check out GM’s latest Escalade-V teaser video below.

  1. This will easily start at $150k. Possibly higher with inflation rising. Soon a recession will come and these big SUV’s will be obsolete.

    2. There was a recession in 2008 and the SUVs like these continue to live on. When the next recession comes, there will not be any different with the SUVs still.

      1. The recession in 08 people couldn’t dump large suv/trucks fast enough. Educate yourself before speaking.

        1. People who buy this type of vehicle are not affected by a recession. The Escalade didn’t go away in 2008.

          1. What are you smoking because I want some? It’s hilarious how people think if someone has a $150k vehicle they must be multi millionaire’s. If you believe these people were not effected in 08 then I suggest you do a little research.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Tons of wealthy people were effected by the recession.

        2. You said obsolete and being obsolete is totally different than dumping. Andy, you are smart and everyone on here is stupid but you but given an opportunity to prove yourself; time and time again you are proven wrong and put your own foot in the mouth. I rather keep my intelligence and not have your level of intelligence which is proven wrong constantly on these posts.

    1. i disagree, i’d say the automotive industry is based 60% on wants and 40% on needs. with that being said I could see a good amount of people wanting this, me being one of those people.

      1. The president can’t tell the stations what to charge but they can give permits out for drilling and increase domestic production, I was certain people educated themselves these days.

        1. So you’re saying the oil industry and Wall Street is “playing politics” if they don’t have it their way? Yes, I can definitely see that, and it’s nothing new too.

          1. I made it clear what I said. If you don’t understand what I said use google translate or something similar to help you out. Thanks have a nice day.

            1. The only thing that you made clear is the failure to understand Economics 101. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt to show some aptitude and not just be peon for the oil industry.
Since you like Google so much, you’d figure out that we already get our oil within North America and net export out. You want to make a dent on price at the pump? You will need help from OPEC and flood the market with oil, or create a demand as low as when Covid 19 was running rampant and made everyone in the world not use petroleum products. When you understand who puts the price on oil, you would not be making ridiculous comments. I don’t blame you making ignorant statements, it’s the same oil industry script given to the messengers (name your media outlet/ politicians of choice) and depending who says it, you’ll drink that Kool-Aid like there’s no tomorrow.

      2. …and there is the thought here that a US president lowers prices too.
A President controlling prices, sounds a bit commie, and contrary to BS belief, this country does not run like that.

🙂 If we get two, we can pickle one and it will become a collector’s item in about 10 years. Why do I say that?-I’ll leave it to your imagination!

  7. @ Camaro Kyle I don’t care what the auto industry says… I say if you want this then buy a Yukon Denali and super charge it just remember it’s mostly for bragging rights as I can’t see this giant SUV going around turns very well! If you really need this size vehicle then buy a Chevy Tahoe for a lot cheaper without the “look at me V Badge”! Cadillac can build what they want but I don’t see this vehicle selling very well and thus it will probably be gone in two years… Instead of GM and Cadillac wasting time with this project they should be working on a Hybrid or EV Escalade that will actually sell and be profitable for Cadillac! Think about it 🤔🤌

    1. well that would make no sense to buy a denali and supercharge it when i could buy a supercharged escalade hassle free. and its about the driver not the car, you can’t see it take turns very well because you likely don’t know how to take a turn in one anyway. Gm even posted a video of a pro driver drifting a tahoe rst like a toy. You can also find videos on the internet of people drifting tahoe’s, suburbans, etc, etc. plus the escalade V isn’t intended to be a cash crop vehicle, cadillac knows its going to sell low volumes of this because thats how it generally is. and yes, an EV escalade is coming, they said this numerous times already.

  8. I’ll sell my 2019 Callaway Yukon for this if I can get it stripped down from all the useless Bling. I want fast, comfy and that’s about it.

  9. Camaro Kyle it might be able to drift and go fast and take turns but I would still prefer a CT5 V Series especially with gas prices the way they are right now! The CT5 even in V Series trim gets better gas mileage then this two ton tank… Or better yet I will go find a gently used CTS V Series Wagon👍👍 🇺🇸 🏁 but if you like trucks to each his own!
