Two weeks after revealing the first image of the all-new Wuling Jia Chen, SAIC-GM-Wuling has just officially announced the new compact size MPV. General Motors’ second joint venture in China released two new images of the Wuling Jia Chen and announced that the upcoming model will arrive in the Asian country’s dealerships in the second quarter of the year.
The all-new Wuling Jia Chen officially becomes the third next-generation vehicle to wear the new Global Silver logo and bear the latest Wuling design language, making up the global model range that promises to expand the brand’s international presence. The Jia Chen follows in the footsteps of the new Wuling Victory MPV and the all-new Asta (Xing Chen) crossover, with which it shares its front-end design and other styling cues.
SGMW reports that the all-new Wuling Jia Chen is a seven-seat multipurpose vehicle capable of satisfying the needs of a wide range of customers, thanks to its simple yet modern design and highly modular interior configuration. In fact, the breadth of the new Jia Chen’s business approach is reflected in the translation of its name in Mandarin, which means “good morning,” a universal greeting appropriate for all kinds of people.
Aesthetically, the new Wuling Jia Chen adopts the “wing dynamic aesthetics” design language of the brand’s latest generation vehicles with the silver logo, and shares several elements with the brand’s first crossover. As such, the Jia Chen sports clean-lined bodywork as well as a distinctive front end made up of a generous V-shaped grille and rectangular LED headlights, a solution quite similar to that of the Wuling Asta.
Although images of its cabin have not yet been released, the joint venture says that the Wuling Jia Chen will feature a three-row layout with a 2+2+N modular layout. This means that customers will be able to choose from various configurations for the third row of seats according to their needs, such as two individual seats to carry six people or a three-person bench seat for a maximum capacity of seven passengers.
The Wuling Jia Chen’s will go on sale in China during the second quarter of the year, expanding Wuling’s modern product portfolio that seeks to lead the passenger vehicle market in the Asian country. The compact Jia Chen will be positioned as the new entry MPV, below the midsize Wuling Victory that leads the brand’s family vehicle offering.

Looks way better then the American made gm stuff.
Be patient. It will be badged as a Buick before you know it.
I can hardly wait, the anticipation is so overwhelming!
Wow. Now that’s ugly.
Just here before someone says they should sell this in the states lol.
Maybe GM should move their corporate headquarters to China, it sounds like they are doing really great over there!
As in the 90’s, we (GM included) keep giving them production knowledge & technology and we all soon, will be bowing to Xi Jinping as master and supreme ruler!
The sad commentary is if China had not opened the doors to automakers many of them we would not be here today.
China is that one this that is needed for survival by many industries but it is the same thing that is quietly killing it too.
