Enterprising buyers of the GMC Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1 are already trying to flip the limited-run, battery-electric pickup truck for a profit.
GM Authority found two separate posts advertising a GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 for sale on social media this week – although it seems as though both ads could be for the same vehicle. First, we found a post from a car enthusiast page called @americanmusclehd, which advertised a brand new GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 for sale at an eyebrow-raising $325,000.

Soon after, we found a separate post via a Facebook group called Wholesale Car Club advertising a GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 for a slightly less (though still very steep) $310,000. We believe the Hummer EV being advertised in both posts is the same vehicle, however, as both are listed as being #59 in the limited First Edition production run. The Facebook ad indicates this vehicle is only one of 30 in the world at the moment despite being marked as #59, as the Hummer EV is allegedly being produced out of sequence.
The GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 is the only variant of the hugely powerful pickup truck that is being produced for the 2022 model year. All examples are finished in an Interstellar White exterior color and feature a Lunar Horizon white leather interior with bronzed Edition 1 badging. The Edition 1 also comes standard with GM’s hands-free Super Cruise driving assistant and the Extreme Off-Road Package, which adds 18-inch wheels, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, underbody skid plates, frame rail rock sliders and underbody cameras.
Power in the Hummer EV Edition 1 comes from an Ultium Drive tri-motor powertrain producing 1,000 horsepower, which is fed by a ~200 kWh Ultium lithium-ion battery pack. This gives the vehicle the ability to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about three seconds, while range sits at an EPA-certified 329 miles. Prices for this range-topping trim starts at $110,295. The vehicle is produced exclusively at the GM Factory Zero plant in suburban Detroit.

$325K!!, it’s a $113,000 value. I guess I’d buy it if I was rich and desperate for it and didn’t get the chance to reserve one, but still… yikes!
Lol oh just wait till you hear how much lambo uruses are going for rn
Fools!
The American muscle page is making a joke about it. They don’t have the car. They are saying how silly it is someone would ask $325k for a Duracell battery.
Save the planet with your 9ton electric dump truck…..
This thing outweighs a 2500 by 2 tons…..good luck out there on the roads.
Only partially true depending on the configuration. The heaviest version of the GM 2500 is 7,889 lbs. The heaviest version of the GM 3500 is 8,300 lbs. By the time many of these trucks are equipped with tool boxes, tools etc. they likely exceed the Hummers weight.
I drive a 2500 Duramax so I’m not trying to defend EV’s, just making on observation. Hopefully they can figure out how to reduce weight and increase range with future models, particularly towing range if they want to be taken serious by those who trailer.
This is the same kind of thing that is happening in the housing market too. Rich people and companies buying up, doing some quick (cheap) fixes and then flipping the homes at huge profits. This is what pushes people like me out of the market and keeping me from being able to afford the actual house I wanted in the area I wanted to buy. IMO, it’s pathetic and they need to try and stop this from taking place. This isn’t much different from that, although a vehicle purchase is not nearly as big or the need for a truck like this is not like the need for a house. But my question is how many people genuinely wanted one of these Hummers and weren’t able to get one because of the pariah’s like the person now selling it?
If you hate the free market so much, consider taking a trip to Venezuela.
Did I say I hate the free market? No. I simply stated my observations about how the rich and greedy create problems for those of us who aren’t rich and greedy.
BTW, don’t you have a Putin/Trump rally to attend?
How can someone like PUTIN/TRUMP!? Putin and Biden and Kamala are nutcases and Trump is a good guy.
Did you mean a Xi/Biden Family rally? Guess you didn’t get the memo about the whole fake Russian collusion thing, maybe Hillary can send you a copy!
Fun Fact: the process of producing the batteries for all EVs releases many emissions. So many that even in the long run, they aren’t really “greener.”
I’m sticking with my diesels!
They are actually much greener than ICE vehicles both in emissions and in materials used for battery manufacturing.
This isn’t my account… This chat/message board client is garbage
Go check the last few days of articles. Someone has said the exact same thing on several articles using that name.
No but they pass the pending and coming regulations.
No pass no sale in the future.
Logan. You are stuck in the past and hanging on with all your might. It’s not 1985 any more.
I too like diesels. I really wish they would bring out a diesel/electric hybrid for the best of both worlds. But back to your comment. You are totally correct IF the world doesn’t move forward and utilize renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. Are there improvements to be made there too? Yes. But if we totally turn to all electric or nearly all electric without dropping the old coal burning, then yes we might as well stick with ICE.
You make a good point… Biodiesel is another more friendly alternative.
The current Electric grid is 90% fossil fuels. Hydro is at 3% and maxed out. Nuclear is at 5% and we are shutting those down. “Renewables” make up 2%…….. and that’s with recieving 40% of our investments into the grid over the past 2 decades…… and solar has a usable life of only 20 years, wind turbines less that. Most our investment into renewables will be maintenance of the current renewable grid.
Aka, your electricity will come from a gas/coal generator operating at 60% efficiency, through a grid that’s 90% and a recharging unit that’s 85%. That means your overall efficiency is ~40-50%………. Same as a gas engine. This Hummer EV has t he same carbon impact as if it had a 5.3…… assuming there was not additional impact from the factory which there is a significantly larger amount…….
EV narrative is as fake as DR fauci
They need to move production of these immediately to china so costs can come down. It would be better quality made there to.
Hurry up the World is ending, buy the 10k lb Hummer to savw the World!
I really haven’t found many people that enamored with the Hummer EV. I’m going to laugh when the original owner can’t flip it and is stuck with such an expensive vehicle 😂😂😂
I think it is awesome. I just can’t afford it. Especially since 99% of the energy for it is free with my solar set up.
Now that’s an affordable EV from gm !
Let the ruck kids fight over them the IRS should be looking at the flipping as short term capital gain ?
