A proud GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 Pickup owner has shared photos of his newly modified battery-electric truck online, which was recently kitted out with a gloss black vinyl wrap and aftermarket wheels and tires.
HummerChat.com user Maligned shared these photos of his GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup on the enthusiast forum earlier this week. As many readers will know, all examples of the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 come identically equipped with an Interstellar White exterior, so the truck has so far only been officially shown in this exterior color. This vinyl-wrapped example gives us a good idea of what it will look like painted in a gloss black shade, and we must say the bronzed tow hooks and exterior badging looks great against the backdrop of a darker body color. The vinyl wrap features KPMF Gloss Phantom Black vinyl and was completed by Midnight Protective Films in Troy, Michigan.
This truck also rides on a set of 24-inch Fuel D741 aftermarket alloy wheels, which are wrapped in a set of 35-inch Federal Xplora MTS rubber. The owner says these wheels and tires perform “about the same as the stock wheels/tires,” based on his observations, although the road noise from the Federal tires is a bit louder than stock. The owner plans to use the stock wheels and tires for winter driving and will keep this set of larger aftermarket wheels for the summer. This truck also has a rear window decal that combines an American flag and a buck, so it seems as though this Hummer EV is a hunting or wildlife enthusiast.
One interesting thing this owner reports is the public’s reaction to the gargantuan Hummer EV. Not only does he get a ton of looks and reactions out on the road, but some people have even stopped by his house to get a closer look at the so-called “super truck.”
“It’s amazing how many people have stopped by my house to look at it, have waved/honked, and stopped to take photos when I’m out,” he said in a post on HummerChat.com. “The attention is wild.”
