The 2023 Chevy Traverse is the sixth model year for the latest second-gen crossover, following up on a mid-cycle enhancement (otherwise known as a model refresh) introduced for the 2022 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2023 Chevy Traverse will lose the following two exterior paint options.
According to GM Authority sources, the 2023 Chevy Traverse will delete Silver Ice Metallic (paint code GAN) and Cherry Red Tintcoat (paint code GSK) from the crossover’s paint options lineup. Silver Ice Metallic is available on all trim levels for the 2022 model year, while Cherry Red Tintcoat costs an extra $495 and is available on all trim levels with the exception of the LS.
With the introduction of the 2023 Chevy Traverse, these two paint options will be replaced with two new colors, specifically Radiant Red Tintcoat (paint code GNT) and Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD).
As stated above, the 2023 Chevy Traverse follows a model refresh introduced for the 2022 model year. The Traverse was previously slated to receive a refresh for the 2021 model year, but due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was delayed by a year.
The 2023 Chevy Traverse will be offered exclusively with the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine, which is rated at 310 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 2,800 rpm. The V6 engine connects to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive available to put the power to the ground.
Under the body panels, the 2023 Chevy Traverse continues to ride on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform, which is also shared with the 2018 and newer second-generation Buick Enclave. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township Assembly facility in Michigan. The 2023 Chevy Traverse is expected to launch in the fall of this year.

New Paint colors will be nice Thank You Marry Barra 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🤣😎
Just at the local dealership and zero Traverses, 3 Silverados, 5 Colorados, 1 Tahoe, and 6 EVs. No Camaros, Malibus, Trailblazers, and 2 Equinoxs.
Need I say anymore…
We’ve seen one 2022 Traverse in our community and it is privately owned. Have yet to catch any 2022 Traverse’s on dealers lots anywhere in central Nebraska. That ought to kill off the species as more and more Toyotas, Hyundai’s, Kia’s and even Ford’s and Jeep’s fill the neighborhood.
Good marketing plan ! Get rid of red and gray colors and replace them with a red and a gray . . . what is the point?
Crazy right? It’s called an update. Companies do it all the time.
When will orders for the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse be accepted?
When will Dea;ers have pricing on the 2023 ZO6???
Wow, normal paint colors, and they just take em’ away like that ?
Wow, i don’t like GM anymore, wow.
Doesn’t matter, can’t get any of them out of Lansing. Huge back log at the plant. Can’t seem to get any answers from GM either, just that they are working on it. Ummm ok, have a Traverse ordered in November completed in December but not delivered yet. A sold order too, and nothing but crickets from GM. >:(
I really hate their Just in time logistics plan for delivering vehicles. Keep the lots empty, make em higher demand so dealerships can upcharge the hell out of them. I’d have bought a 22 Tahoe already, but you can’t find one on any lots. I won’t buy a vehicle sight unseen.
