2022 GMC Terrain Won’t Lose These Three Paint Colors After All

Back in February, GM Authority reported the 2022 GMC Terrain crossover would lose three previously available paint colors, including Quicksilver Metallic, Cayenne Red Tintcoat and Hunter Metallic.

We can now confirm that General Motors has decided to keep these colors around for the 2022 model year GMC Terrain. It’s not clear why Quicksilver Metallic, Cayenne Red Tintcoat and Hunter Metallic were dropped from the crossover’s order books and then promptly re-added, but nevertheless, customers will now be able to order the Terrain in these exterior colors for the remainder of the 2022 model year.

As we noted previously, Quick Silver Metallic and Hunter Metallic carry a price premium of $495 on the Terrain, while Cayenne Red Tintcoat adds $645 to the vehicle’s price tag. Quicksilver Metallic and Hunter Metallic are available across all trim levels, while Hunter Metallic is only offered on the range-topping Denali trim level. Cayenne Red Tintcoat and Hunter Metallic were introduced as all-new colors on the GMC Terrain for the 2022 model year.

Quicksilver Metallic is available to order in conjunction with all three interior colors available for the GMC Terrain, which include Jet Black, Medium Ash Gray/Jet Black and Light Platinum/Dark Galvanized. Cayenne Red Tintcoat is available with the Jet Black and Medium Ash Gray/Jet Black interior colors, while Hunter Metallic is only available with the Jet Black and Light Platinum/Dark Galvanized interior combo.

The 2022 GMC Terrain comes standard with a turbocharged 1.5L LYX I-4 engine rated at 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, mated exclusively to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive optional. The crossover is produced exclusively at the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico. Prices start at $29,095 including destination and freight.

  1. Good. I think red looks the best on the GMC Terrain. It’d be a shame if they lost that.

  2. Too Bad the Hunter Green is not available on the AT4, but agreed with above the red looks sharp especially on the AT4
Now if Mary could only find a way to reverse the decision on the 2.0L , we’ed have a winner!.
