2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate Reservations Full

General Motors has filled up all available reservation spots for the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate.

GM allowed customers to place a pre-order for the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate via GMC.com, charging individuals a $100 fee to secure their spot in line. It has now filled up all available reservation spots for the lavishly appointed pickup, which serves as the new range-topping trim level in the Sierra’s lineup, slotting in just above the regular Denali trim level.

“Due to strong interest in the most advanced and luxuriously appointed Sierra ever, we have reached our production capacity for the year for the new 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate,” a GM spokesperson confirmed to GM Authority. “Customers are still able to reserve all other trims.”

The 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate features exclusive Vader chrome exterior trim, along with matching 22-inch low-gloss black aluminum wheels with machined accents and GMC’s tough CarbonPro carbon-fiber composite bed. Inside, the truck comes standard with the new Ultimate Alpine Umber interior color combination, featuring full-grain leather seating and authentic open-pore Paldao wood. Other standard features include a 12-speaker Bose Premium Series stereo with Centerpoint surround sound, a MultiPro tailgate audio system, heated and ventilated 16-way power front seats with massage function and GM’s hands-free, semi-autonomous Super Cruise driving assistant.

Power in the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a GM 10-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift and is joined by standard four-wheel drive and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case. Denali Premium Suspension with Adaptive Ride Control is also standard equipment.

Customers who want a more fuel-efficient powertrain can also opt for the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, which is rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This is an optional engine, however it’s offered at no additional cost on this particular trim level.

Production of the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 takes place at the GM Silao plant in Mexico and GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana. Pricing starts at $80,395 including destination and freight.

    2. I was born and raised in RI now live on seacoast NH – PM gets quite a bit of GMC’s. What I know of the process is GM pulls orders on Saturday and Tuesday’s and dealers know what gets picked up by Thursday – it’s done on a weekly basis. If you search GMC Inventory over 400 GMC 1500 refresh’s have been produced thus far – and no Denali ultimates. So, it could be they have not started producing them yet. I think almost 30 AT4X’s have been produced.

I personally have an order in at dealer in NH – but an AT4 vs. AT4X – I wanted the standard bed and the 20″ wheels that is not available on the X. My dealer is also honoring supplier discount – approx. $4K savings unlike most dealers who are not.

      1. I live on the route 3 side of NH. My brother in law runs a Hyundai dealership on the south shore of Mass and he recommended PM to me. They were the only dealer outside of my area I put in a request to get a hold of me when orders opened up and they were also the only ones who got back to me. So PM it is. They didn’t mention anything to me about a supplier discount but they’re also not selling above MSRP which a lot of dealers are doing. I just haven’t talked to them about final pricing yet.

        1. Work for a major IT company and get discounts on GM, Stellantis, Nissan, etc.. Most dealers are not honoring it, but my local dealer who’s a GMC, Buick, Cadallic etc. is honoring it. They are not as big as PM, but they get their fair share of units. They are 2 miles from my house. The mistake I made was going with another dealer originally in MA – a friend of mine is Sales Manager – but they are not honoring supplier and they have not received yet 1 allocation for the new GMC refresh. They are more of a Chevy vs. GMC dealer – but they sell both. So I had to restart – but I’m in the queue. Hope my order gets picked up over the next 1 – 2 weeks. From what I can see, PM has 2 SLT’s in transit right now – that’s about it.

          Reply
          1. I’ll have to ask them about that. I was at one point told things were ahead of schedule and could be here as soon as February. As you can see that is by the wayside. I work in Cybersecurity but for the government. So we don’t get discounts on anything haha.

Where are you able to see production details?

            Reply
            1. All you can see is what is in transit – appears they are producing approx. 75+ units a day – maybe more. From what you can tell, the highest priced units that have been produced and in transit are AT4X’s. Once you get the slot, ask PM what the TPW – which is the week the unit is tagged to be produced.

    3. I’m also in RI and debated doing my reservation through PM. They used to be 5 min from me but sold that dealership to Tasca. I went with them out of convenience but it’s been anything but. Should have made the 30 min drive to PM.

  4. What I’d like to know is the number of “reservations” they have on the books!

    Reply
  5. That would be interesting to know. It’s certainly enough to them to not take any more orders. There was a blog on this site posted a couple days ago saying production for the Sierra was beginning on 3-14 in Mexico and Indiana and they are “starting to arrive at dealerships.” It didn’t say which specific ones but it does mention the Ultimate in the blog as well.

  12. Overall the 2022 GMC Sierra front end is a vast improvement. Still not a fan of the mirrors mounted on the door and whatever happened to painted wheel well moldings on a $80K truck? I must say is the title “Ultimate” the best GM could come up with for naming an upgraded Denali? Do we really need 2 Denali’s?

    Reply
  13. My dealer asked if I wanted to put in a reservation, mainly because I think they wanted my 2020 Denali Ultimate in on trade so they can mark it up and sell it to some sucker. New truck at full MSRP of course, and I’d have to wait an unknown period of time to get it. I think they are delusional. These are not collectible Ferraris. The new model has some very good improvements and I’d love Super Cruise, but it’s still a GMC with average quality and characteristics across the board. My 2020 truck was barely sane at $10K off MSRP back then, and I just can’t see paying full MSRP. When things get back to normal, these will be sitting on lots with big incentives just like the old days. I can wait.

  14. Got a call from my dealer this evening and turns out GMC will not be making the 2022 Denali ultimate or offering super cruise as an option on the standard Denali. Additionally, the price of the standard Denali has jumped about 12k. I’m so disappointed as I’ve been impatiently waiting for my ultimate. From the sounds of it, the reason is just continued supply chain issues. Frustrated.
