General Motors has applied yet another round of price increases to the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD.
The Detroit-based automaker applied minor price increases to the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD lineup last November, which ranged from $300 to $700 depending on the trim level in question. It then added another small price increase of $500 across the entire board for the heavy-duty pickup in January, bringing the starting MSRP of the Silverado 2500HD to $37,995 for the entry-level Regular Cab, Long Bed WT trim with the naturally aspirated 6.6L L8T V8 gasoline engine and rear-wheel drive.
Now, the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD has received its third price increase. The tables below outline the most recent MSRPs, with separate tables for the 2500HD and 3500HD. Put simply, though, customers can expect price increases of $500 for the LTZ trim level, $900 for the LT, $1,100 for the High Country, $1,050 to $1,200 for the Custom and $1,200 for the WT across both the 2500HD and 3500HD.

The least expensive Chevy Silverado 2500HD is still the Regular Cab, Long Bed WT with the 6.6L L8T V8 engine and rear-wheel drive, which is now priced from $39,195. The priciest 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, meanwhile, remains the Crew Cab, Long Bed High Country with the 6.6L L5P V8 turbo-diesel Duramax engine and four-wheel drive, which is now priced from $76,845.
The cheapest 3500HD is the Regular Cab, Long Bed WT with the 6.6L L8T V8 engine and rear-wheel drive, now priced from $40,395, while the most expensive is the High Country Crew Cab, Long Bed DRW with the 6.6L L5P V8 and four-wheel drive, starting from $79,245.
It’s not entirely clear why the price of the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD has risen, although GM has experienced various production setbacks with its full-size trucks over the past year or so. These vehicles are also currently in high demand, so a small price increase is unlikely to deter very many customers.
Production of the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD takes place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan, while the GM Oshawa Plant in Canada also recently began producing the truck to help meet sustained high demand.

Increases from raw materials. Nickel has doubled in price if you can get it as just one example.

This administration is doing everything they can to force feed us to go to Electric Vehicles. We will pay for development of EVs. Future people will have to finance operating expenses in purchase price tag of new vehicle whatever it uses because of high costs.
Maybe we will all be riding electric scooters to save the planet and get to the next tree to hug.
So glad I went gas instead of diesel with my new 2022 Silverado. They are killing us around here with high diesel prices , no mercy. Gas too.

To anybody out there under a certain age, this is a taste of Jimmy Carter inflation. It was so bad that the Federal Reserve had to raise the prime rate above the inflation rate, to 21.5% under President Reagan. We need to become energy independent again to at least begin to lower prices along with interest rate increases. One thing about high inflation, wages will never keep up.
