General Motors revealed the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 late last year, pulling the sheets in September and introducing a broad range of changes and updates for the light-duty pickup truck. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado is currently unavailable to order with the 22-inch Bright Chrome wheels.
The Chevy Silverado rollers in question are officially called the 22-inch Bright Chrome six-split-spoke wheels, and are tagged with RPO code SF1. The wheels were priced at $3,495, and were offered as an LPO-level option, which means they were installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle was initially produced. As such, models optioned with these wheels were equipped with four steel 22-inch wheels from the factory with the appropriate alignment specs.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado’s 22-inch Bright Chrome six-split-spoke wheels were available as an option for LT, RST, LTZ, and High Country trim levels, but were not offered on WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, or ZR2 trims.
Luckily, the other 22-inch LPO-level optional wheels mentioned in previous GM Authority coverage are currently available to order for the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado. These include the 22-inch Multi-spoke Chrome wheels (RPO code SSI), the 22-inch Multi-split spoke Chrome wheels (RPO code SSW), and the 22-inch High Gloss Black wheels (RPO code SGM).
As for the greasy bits, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is available with four engine options, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline, which is now rated at 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine with Dynamic Fuel Management, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax.
Under the body panels, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 rides on the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Silao plant in Mexico, and, in the spring of 2022, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada as well.

If they’re anything like the chrome wheels on my 2014 Sierra, the chrome starts peeling off after a couple of years.
its a whole lot better than the ugly black wheels caked with brake dust , and all the un-finished plastics all over the exterior of the truck. try waxing the wheels a few times a year , or if your up north I guess the salt takes a toll.
Based on prior history with Chrome-Plated aluminum wheels from GM, buyers would be well advised to avoid shelling out over $3495.00 for these wheels since they have a reputation for shedding their Chrome after a while.
untill a year and a half ago, the wheels were a 1200 upgrade, now you get screwed for the wheels.
REQUEST TO GM ,
Every day or two an announcement is made of options not available, paint colour change, heated seats not available and the list goes on. Now some don’t like the chrome wheels but now they are not available and a new announcement that the tail gate is not available on some pick ups.
PLEASE MAKE IT EASIER FOR YOUR GM CUSTOMER AND JUST LIST WHAT IS AVAILABLE –
IT WILL SAVE A LOT OF TIME .
YES! WHY attempt to order a truck when the features keep changing or disappearing? This is ridiculous.
Kinda begins to highlight the benefit of dealers having inventory so you can see the vehicle you want to buy right on the lot – rather than ordering from an order book and waiting months to find out it’s not really what you ordered.
Don’t get wheel upgrades at the dealer. Go to a local wheel shop.
Buy a Tesla stop buying GM cheap Shortcut vehicles that disappoint at every release of new features and don’t perform to expectations.
