2022 Chevy S10 Z71 Introduced In Argentina

Following the local launch of the 2022 Chevy S10 lineup in January, General Motors has just introduced the Z71 off-road variant of Chevrolet‘s midsize pickup in Argentina. The automaker confirmed that it will start selling the new 2022 Chevy S10 Z71 in the Argentine market starting next month, further expanding the model’s lineup with the most robust and adventurous version.

The all-new 2022 Chevy S10 Z71 will be unveiled for the first time in Argentina on Tuesday, March 8th during a popular local market agricultural expo, marking the debut of the well-known Z71 version both for the nameplate and in the South American country. Yet-unreleased Z71 version of the S10 adopts a package of highly distinctive exclusive and functional features that enhance the pickup’s off-road capabilities.

Notably, Argentina becomes the fifth country in South America to receive the new 2022 Chevy S10 Z71 due to logistical delays, caused by severe vehicle import limitations imposed by the country’s authorities. After the official debut of the S10 Z71 in Brazil at the end of October, the version arrived in Paraguay with the same nameplate, while it was later introduced in Colombia and Chile as the Colorado Z71.

Designed by GM Brazil in collaboration with the US product development team, the 2022 Chevy S10 Z71 features more than 20 unique design elements that give it a highly personalized appearance. Among them, the grille with darkened CHEVROLET letters stands out, “floating” fender flares, tubular anti-roll bar, specific running boards, distinctive decals, as well as a black wheel finish and trim.

Although it is a mid-grade trim, the 2022 Chevy S10 Z71 has a full list of technological and safety features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, rear view camera and adaptive cruise control. In addition, it includes the Duramax turbo-diesel 2.8L I-4 XLD28 engine with 200 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, as well as standard 4×4.

The new 2022 Chevy S10 Z71 will be available for sale at the Chevrolet dealer network in Argentina starting in April, exclusively in Crew Cab bodywork as the fifth trim level of the midsize pickup in that country. As such, the adventurous-focused model sits smack dab in the middle of the trim lineup that includes LS, LT, Z71, LTZ and High Country.

  1. How and the hell can so many people in South America afford some of those upscale vehicles when they are so expensive and overpriced here? Are they getting them much cheaper than here and also different models we do not get here!?

  2. Not everyone is poor in these countries. Some of them are pretty advances in many places. Yes they do tend to have two class systems in many countries down there but they still have enough money to buy new vehicles, some very expensive.

Also these trucks are not as nice as what we have. Less options less comfort, One engine to choose from in some markets. Cheaper interiors.

GM had to redo this truck before we got it as Americans would never have bought it the way it was.
