2022 Cadillac CT5-V Gets New Electric Blue Color: First Look

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V models get two new exterior colors: Blaze Orange Metallic and Electric Blue. Here’s our first look at the new Electric Blue hue.

Assigned RPO code GMO and touch-up paint code WA-632D, Electric Blue is one of nine exterior colors available for the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V:

  • Black Raven
  • Infrared Tintcoat
  • Rift Metallic
  • Satin Steel Metallic
  • Shadow Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Wave Metallic
  • Blaze Orange Metallic (new for 2022 model year)
  • Electric Blue (new for 2022 model year)

The Electric Blue color is an extra-cost item, adding an additional $625 to the vehicle’s price. It is available on the CT5-V, though it’s also available on the regular (non-V) CT5 and the CT5-V Blackwing, the latter of which seen in real-world photos here.

In addition, the color can only be combined with the following interior colorways:

  • Jet Black with Jet Black accents
  • Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents
  • Whisper Beige with Jet Black accents

For the sake of reference, here are all available 2022 Cadillac CT5 interior colorways:

  • Jet Black with Jet Black accents
  • Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents
  • Sahara Beige with Jet Black accents
  • Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents
  • Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black accents
  • Whisper Beige with Jet Black accents

The big news for the 2022 Cadillac CT5 was the addition of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing ultra-performance model to the lineup. Taking the CT5-V to the next level, the CT5-V Blackwing is powered by GM’s supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine, which produces 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a standard six-speed manual transmission sourced from Tremec, while a GM 10-speed automatic is available as an option. It also features unique front and rear fascias, upgraded chassis and suspension systems, upgraded performance brakes, and two available carbon fiber aero packages.

Back to the “regular” CT5-V, it packs GM’s twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY powerplant, pumping out a very healthy 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque.

The 2022 Cadillac CT5 family is produced at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. The Cadillac CT4 sedan and the Chevy Camaro muscle car are also made at the same facility.

  1. It used to be that cars were changed year to year to make them look different so that more can be sold. Now the big deal is a big announcement about a new color, BIG DEAL. Generous Motors is slowly going away because of their model offerings. Buick is a joke, NO CARS! Cadillac is not what it was. Buick offers cars to the commies in China but not to the free market. I for one, have probably bought my last Buick or Cadillac, cars from other manufacturers are looking better and better and at least they are American made. Spoken by a GM retiree.

  3. A wife’s or career lady’s color choice. Would be interesting in a mild pink for this group and the Mary K crowd. Caddy had mild pink in the fifties and early sixties. Mild pink with white leather interior.

  4. It looks like something you would see on a cheap car. Does nothing for the brand.

  5. Not my cup of tea but it is a choice for someone who likes it and wants to stand out. Of the two Vs, the Blackwing looks the best for this color.

    1. Why don’t you like it? Not micro fiber on the mirrors?

    2. Not a color I would order either but happy to see color is coming back. So tired of white/black/silver as the only thing on the road.
