2022 Cadillac CT4 Onyx Package No Longer Available

The Onyx Package offered on the 2022 Cadillac CT4 is no longer available to order due to undisclosed issues, GM Authority has learned.

The Onyx Package is an LPO-level cosmetic package, meaning the equipment from the package is not installed at the factory by GM, but by technicians after the vehicle arrives at the dealership. It was previously available to order on the Cadillac CT4 in the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels and added the following equipment to the compact sedan (relevant RPO code listed in parentheses):

  • 19-inch alloy wheels with Gloss Black finish (RPO SOU)
  • Black mirror caps (RPO 5JS)
  • Black grille (RPO 5XR)
  • Monochrome Cadillac emblems (RPO SFZ)
  • Gloss Black grille trim (RPO E5K)

This cosmetic package, which could be described as giving the Cadillac CT4 a meaner and more aggressive exterior appearance, costs $2,995 to equip on the Premium Luxury trim level and $3,195 to equipment on the Luxury and Sport trim levels. The Black grille (RPO 5XR) could also previously be ordered as a standalone option for $625, but it’s also no longer available as of now. It’s not clear why the Onyx Package and Black grille were removed from the vehicle’s order books, nor is it clear when they will be added back to it.

The Onyx Package was just added to the Cadillac CT4 order books for the 2022 model year, which was one of the few minor changes applied to the sedan as it switched over from the 2021MY. Further updates include the deletion of three exterior color options, which were indirectly replaced by three new hues: Blaze Orange Metallic, Electric Blue and Dark Emerald Frost. The compact luxury sedan also added several additional standard active safety features when compared to the 2021 model year, as GM Authority covered previously.

Production of the Cadillac CT4 takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan, where it’s built alongside the Chevy Camaro sports coupe and the closely related Cadillac CT5 luxury sedan.

  1. Trust GM they’ll fix this

  2. I really wouldn’t want the dealer tearing into the front bumper to replace the grill on a brand new car. Nice package though.
