Very Yellow 1993 Geo Tracker Convertible For Sale

With small dimensions and surprisingly nimble off-roading agility, the Geo Tracker was a solid little SUV, and now, this well-kept example from the 1993 model year is up for grabs in a new online auction.
Recently listed for sale on Bring A Trailer, the current seller acquired this 1993 Geo Tracker from the original owner in 2021, putting just 700 miles on it before listing it for sale.
Outside, we see a ’90s-tastic exterior featuring yellow paint offset with pink brush strokes. Complementing the yellow is a black soft top with clear vinyl windows, while in the corners, there’s a set of 15-inch alloy wheels with a silver face and yellow inner spokes. The wheels are wrapped in new 205/75 Toyo Extenza A/S tires, which were mounted in August of 2021. A spare wheel is mounted to the rear swing tailgate.
Inside, this 1993 Geo Tracker features black and yellow upholstery, as well as vinyl door panels and rubber floor mats. Air conditioning and the factory AM/FM cassette stereo keep it comfy, while manual crank side windows keep it refreshingly old school.
Under the hood is the Suzuki-based 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with electronic fuel injection. From the factory, the four-banger was rated at 80 horsepower and 94 pound-feet of torque, which isn’t much by modern standards, but fits the diminutive Geo Tracker well. The engine was recently serviced with new fluids, a new timing belt, a new water pump, new coolant hoses, new spark plugs, and new seals.
Output is fed through a three-speed automatic transmission, which, per the listing, has a minor leak. A two-speed transfer case, manually locking front hubs, and 4×4 traction round out the drivetrain, while front discs and rear drums provide the stop.
Now, this 1993 Geo Tracker is offered at no reserve with 65,000 miles on the clock. As of this writing, the current highest bid of two placed is set at $5,000, with six days left in the auction.

Very nice for a city like Fortaleza, beaches, dunes etc
I drove one for several years. It was fun for the beach and very dependable.
Would be a great car for seaside at the ocean or another second home location. Ours handled the Blue Ridge well.
The worst flaw was expressway driving. It could keep up fine but its short wheelbase and the interstate’s seams made for some bumpy travel.
Yeah! A Suzuki! This reminds me of the similar sized but more Jeep-like looking which I drove in Cuba from Siboney Bay to Guantanamo along the coast, and back on the motorway. Unfortunately I missed the short detour to see the gate to the US occupied part of Cuba with my own eyes.
Chevrolet still needs a few cheap first cars for US buyers to establish brand/GM loyalty. Since sourcing from China is unpopular, The Company refuses to spill capital on non EV EV projects, then GM should consider teaming up for a Geo-like project with Renault Suzuki or even Opel via Stellantis provided quality is good.
It would be very strange for Stellantis to build cars for GM.
My friends had a 1990, which we drove on many of the “Jeep roads” in the mountains of Colorado. It was a great vehicle for those roads – it did have an after-market hard top. I thought it was a great little vehicle.
I would be interested in talking about buying.
