The online configurator tool for the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 will go live on March 3rd, GM Authority can confirm.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 configurator was initially supposed to go live on January 5th, however this launch date got pushed back for unknown reasons. GM Authority has now learned the revised launch date for the tool, which allows users to select their preferred body configuration, powertrain, trim level, exterior and interior colors and options and features, will be March 3rd.
As GM Authority reported previously, dealers can already place orders for the refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500 and have been doing so since the first order cycle went into effect on December 16th of 2021. Despite this, the customer-facing configurator tool has still yet to go live, which is a bit odd for GM. In fact, we can’t think of any recent GM vehicle launch where this scenario has taken place.
General Motors first unveiled the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 last September. The pickup introduces revised exterior styling to the nameplate, along with an all-new interior design and layout and new available technologies. A multitude of powertrains are offered, including the turbo 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine (which now produces 20 percent more torque for a total of 430 pound-feet), the atmospheric 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the atmospheric 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. The pickup rides on the same GM T1 platform as the pre-refresh model.
Production of the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 takes place at the GM Silao Plant in Mexico, the GM Fort Wayne Assembly facility in Indiana, and the GM Oshawa Plant in Canada. Prices start at $33,195 including destination and freight charges for the entry-level Work Truck trim level.

About time. I wonder what expected deliveries are currently. I talked to someone a few weeks ago who had placed an order and their delivery schedule was end of May.. so 4-5 months wait
Very hard to predict delivery dates, production dates though are much easier. Production kicks off 2/21 now after being delayed 2 weeks. Several of my units are being built in March at this point. The very first units will probably hit the ground mid-March.
Cole, what is the status on heated/ventilated seats?
I was going to place an order for a ZR2 on Costco.com, but said Bluetooth & heated seats NA…..
I never thought those would stop me from buying a new truck but well here I am!!?
The latest update I have is that heated/ventilated seats are supposed to re-enter production starting 2/21, which is the new start of regular production for the 22MCE Silverado (delayed from 2/7). That leads me to believe at all 22MCE Silverados will have heated/ventilated seats.
The dealership I am ordering through says there is constraints on the Max Trailer Pkg. Can you confirm. I would like a new truck but I can wait a while more.
Hello Mark,
I do not believe the NHT Max Trailering package was on constraint last week for the LD trucks, but the integrated trailering brake controller was on some trims, so that could’ve been what they were referring to.
I originally ordered my 2022 High Country LTD on December the 6th. the third week of January (6 weeks after the order was placed) my dealer called and said that per GM we need to convert to the refreshed model. We worked out the details and the new model is about $850 more than the original. I had to give up a few options but gained many more. I just received a call today stating that my tentative build week is March 14th so I should see the new one by the first two weeks of April. I know this is different than ordering right now but mine is going to take about 4 months from the order date.
You can already configure the new 2022 SIERRA and SILVERADO on NADA guide and get the invoice and MSRP pricing.
NADA Guide also shows which options are not compatible, much better than the Costco configurator
Where are you finding this for the Refreshed 2022?
All i see on NADA is for the 2022 with the current body style, not the refresh
The pictures is not updated but there is a 2022 and LTD 2022 option. The High Country for 2022 had super cruise as a option so it is the refresh truck
I just went to NADA and built what the truck I wanted and, of course super cruise is not available on the standard 6’6″ bed or with the max trailering package. I absolutely hate the way GM restricts the way we are able to option the vehicles that we need/want. I hope that site is wrong, but I have a feeling it’s not.
I just tried to build a High Country on our internal GM ordering site with the options you mentioned and when I add the Max Trailering Pkg, it removes Super Cruise….
Yea yea yea……….and another flock of wooden ducks flew by. If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge for sale if you’re interested.
Fail. This means the trucks won’t be shipped for other several months…
Production is still on track for 2/21. They’re building them without the configurator being live.
The product schedule for the current Colorado and Canyon are now getting back on it’s normal schedule and the strategy to close the gap on this chip shortage is finally narrowing, so they should mean the same for the Full Sized Trucks also.
Guys, at this point just call it a 2023 FFS…
Hey GMA, when you reporting the Spark is going out of production?.
GM Authority also said middle of this week. So… like the GM customer I am, Ill believe it when I see it.
YES!!!! I CAN’T WAIT!!! ABOUT TIME!!!
Possibly still trying to clear old inventory that’s been waiting for chips? Hopefully this doesn’t push back the HD update again.
Next month…..”Updated 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Configurator To Go Live On May 3rd”
Any updates on if production will begin as scheduled tomorrow Feb 7th?
I think someone has reported that production has been pushed back to the 21st….
What about the GMC Sierra configure page. I’m hoping to get an AT4X
I got a call from my salesman at the dealer and he said I was at least #5, could move up to #1 in order. I ordered ASAP in mid-December. Didn’t give a definitive production date, so no arrival date, but production begins Feb. 7th, so it could come in 12 weeks from then (beginning of May?). I can’t wait!!!
Elevation with preferred pkg, premium, pkg, X-31 pkg, auto-locking transfer case, Dynamic Blue, 5.3L V8, bed-view camera, etc. ~ $60k MSRP; $57k Invoice; $55k dealer holdback, + trade-in and GM discount should bring me down to ~ $45k???
What dealership are you using thats giving you invoice pricing or less?
Im lucky to find MSRP around Dallas.
What GM discount?? For an new/new 2022 with a $60k msrp, I would expect you to pay at least $58k or $59k. Better chance of winning Powerball than paying less than $50k for that truck.
Hope you have that in writing…..
I ordered about 3 weeks ago through a dealership in Denver, 2022 Silverado Trail Boss (refreshed or “mid cycle”) as they are calling it. I didnt get a firm date, but I have been checking my order status. Up until yesterday they kept saying that “GM has received your order, but has not accepted it” Yesterday I got, “GM has accepted your order, but no production date has been assigned.” So at least there is progress!
What dealer did you go through?
I need a High Country 6.2 in Denver
I’m weighing High Country and Denali. Why did you choose High Country?
I am getting a High Country, comes down to personal taste. With a Denali it is obvious it is a Denali. With a High Country you could remove the large badges and most people would just see a generic Silverado.
Does anyone know when western Canada will get prices and be able to order these trucks?
The salesman handling my order says he was hoping to have full pricing Friday (Feb 4th). I’m not holding my breath too much with how everything is going, but fingers crossed that he’s right and things keep moving along now. He said that locking in the order will happen pretty quickly once he gets pricing. Hearing lots of different timelines out there obviously, but that’s what I’ve been told about my Sierra.
i ordered mine last monday in ontario. blind, ordered but no prices yet….lol
I ordered mine 1/7 through a dealer rep that my family has ordered 5 trucks from previously. He sent me home with the order sheet with all of the pricing. I ordered the LT Trail Boss with a 5.3 with Convenience Packages 1&2, Dark Essentials, and the towing package. Came in at $59,150, $60,854 w/DFC. Just got a call today from him confirming my truck had been accepted for production this month. Told me to expect delivery by sometime late March.
Did GM accept your order even though no pricing?
I’ve been shopping for a 2022 (actually a 2021 now badged as a 2022 LTD) Silverado High Country. Why would GM want to alllow us to order a real 2022 when they are selling the pseudo 2022 for $5,000 to $10,000 over MSRP? What a rip off. I don’t think it will be long before several states attorney generals file joint suits against both the dealers and GMC for gauging. Why are they rewarding themselves for such a bad screw up in production and management? Covid is one thing and a plague we are all suffering from, but to punish consumers because they never thought to stockpile ‘chips’ should the supply chain get disrupted. Like it did. ????
It’s the unfortunate result of supply vs. demand. Don’t give the dealership with such a high markup your business. I had to send various emails to many dealerships before I found one that offered MSRP with no markup for the new 2022. Most were selling it at 5k over. Silly! So I just discarded those dealerships. People need to consider this tactic to hurt dealers where it does the most…in the $$$ pocket.
The difference between price gouging and demand based pricing has to do with the necessity of the product in question (and/or the amount by which the price has been adjusted). The reason I don’t believe ANY attorney generals will file any suits in this case is because nobody NEEDS a brand new truck. If you are driving a truck you bought in the past 4 years, chances are you could sell it for near what you paid or even more. Would you be personally price gouging? No, you are pricing to the market. I don’t blame dealerships for pricing where they are if people are willing to pay. Personally I’ll be waiting for prices to settle down!
At this point just wait for 2023.
This is exactly my problem.
I would love to pull the trigger on a new Sierra, however if it’s not getting here till may/June/July then why not wait until they roll out the 2023?
I know they’ll be exactly the same style/feature wise, but one will be considered a model year newer come selling time
Just wait and order one in March/April timeframe. Pretty sure by the time it gets here it would be a MY2023.
The first order cycle for the 2023s will be in July…..
I have the same problem .Do i buy a 21 new now , or a 22LTD or wait ?
The way prices on everything change everyday 😞
I wouldn’t be surprised if they say pricing will be available when the truck is built
He said all new interior, but the only thing I see that’s new is the screen. Everything else is just like my 2022 3500 LTZ that I got on 1/20/22.
There are some front grill changes too.
Based on pics, the non-dashboard interior looks the same which I think is okay.
