Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) recently unveiled the 2022 Chevy Colorado Xtreme Off Road, a tuned-up, high-riding, supercharged pickup throwing down a heady 750 horsepower.
The magic starts under the hood, where SVE installs a new 5.3L V8 engine composed of a blueprinted L83 aluminum block and tons of high-end components. Highlights include a forged 1538MV twisted steel crankshaft, forged H-beam rods and forged aluminum pistons, CNC ported L83 high flow cylinder heads, and ARP high-strength head and main studs.
Making the boost is SVE’s in-house centrifugal supercharger system, fed by an upgraded fuel system. The charge air stays chilly via an air-to-water intercooler system, while spent gasses are evacuated via a custom stainless steel exhaust system. Put it all together, and the result is 750 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.
The new SVE Chevy Colorado gets the appropriate clearance thanks to a four-inch lift that utilizes the Colorado ZR2’s Multimatic DSSV dampers, as well as new heavy-duty traction bars. Making the rig stop are branded six-piston front brake calipers finished in red, paired with either black or white lettering, plus 13.6-inch vented rotors.
The new Chevy Colorado looks the part with unique quarter-panel graphics and unique wheels, declaring the power levels with graphics on the hood and tailgate. There are goodies for the interior as well, such as an optional leather seat trim package, which is available in two colors and accented with red and white stitching on the black seats. The Xtreme V8 Supercharged logo is embroidered on the front headrests.
SVE will build its Xtreme Off Road pickup using new 2022 Chevy Colorado 4WD ZR2 models (crew cab / short box configuration) as the base vehicle. Just 50 examples are set for production.
Alternatively, if you prefer your supercharged pickup with some street style instead, SVE is also offering the new 750-horsepower 2022 GMC Syclone.

Neat idea – I like the Colorado and always like a powerful engine in vehicles, but the graphics/package screams “rich high school kid” to me. I suppose there’s easily 50 out there that will buy this, and I don’t think this is really a machine for off roaders…
Ditto … massive horsepower, high speed AND Off-roading ~~ what could possibly go wrong? and teen age graphics saved up from their $17 Micky D’s job (???) I bought a “used” ’67 Camaro SS in 1969 with my $1.65 per hour job. Used HighTest gas 45 cents a gallon.
A lot of people who buy Off-_Road vehicles Never go off road.
If we can just get 2 dr. with a short bed. Then it would fit what jeep has. Then fun on the sand and fields.
If GM doesn’t offer a supercharged version of the Silverado ZR2 and GMC AT4 X, companies like this will. My only concern when not offered from the factory is cost and warranty issues.
On paper the SVE Colorado should be quicker than the TRX, it would be interesting to see them lined up.
SVE (formerly SLP) is one of the best GM tuners out there, but you’re going to pay for it. Their Syclone trucks go for big $$$, so I could see this going for no less than $80-90k.
Your checking account, your deal. To each their own.
Agreed, those graphics got to go. Not interested in the wheel and tire package too.
For 10k less, I’ll settle for 650 hp gm crate with and a plain body and choice of wheels and tires.
I would take the drive train and suspension upgrades and skip the cosmetic graphics and aftermarket wheel options. I wish GM would offer a V-8 in the Colorado and continue the Duramax option.
How about a 400+ hp with a 3-4″ lift ( trillion boss on steroids) without the high-school paint job ? The trail boss has flown off the shelf !! The market is screaming… are you listening GM ?
I totally agree, why not just swap in a 6.2L off the shelf and call it a day. That would be plenty of power for this little thing.
Why everyone gotta put it down I like it. Go order what you want if what’s on the market ain’t good enough for you. It’s a bit much on power but I fn love it and if I total it i can put the engine in a muscle car
I like it, I wouldn’t mind just a tuned 5.3 forget the supercharger. Better durability and a lot less money.
Like always GM definitely came up with another stunning vehicle. Let the haters cry all they want.
Keep up the good work for, Both the military & off road enthusiasts like us!
