Scale Chevy Silverado Model Made Out Of PVC: Video

A semi-popular YouTuber who is well-known for making his own models out of sheets of PVC plastic has attempted to recreate the pre-refresh Chevy Silverado 1500 Trailboss in scaled-down form.

While most of us will just go down to Walmart or the local hobby store if we want a diecast, Ank Creative on YouTube is a bit more ambitious. He builds all sorts of unique scale models out of raw sheets of PVC plastic or repurposed plastic items like cigarette lighters. While he typically builds sports cars and supercars like the McLaren P1 and Audi R8, we were happy to see him trying his hand at something uniquely American.

Ank Creative makes his plastic scale models by cutting, folding and glueing pieces of sanded PVC together. This may sound fairly straightforward, but actually seeing him precisely cut the body panels and add the body detailing with a chisel or knife is very impressive. He also uses a lighter to heat up the plastic and bend it for certain components, including the rear bumper. These models are a bit more intricate than a Hot Wheels, for example, as they use working leaf spring-style suspension, an engine and other small yet important details.

Ank Creative’s creations remind us of another hugely talented Youtuber we’ve covered in the past who makes intricate wood carvings of GM vehicles like the C8 Corvette Stingray and Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. The wood carvings are a bit more impressive and intricate, but needless to say that both of these hobbyists are hugely talented.

Watch Ank Creative create his Chevy Silverado from start to finish in the video embedded below.

  4. A lot of patience and skill went into this and you could just buy a HotWheels Silverado TrailBoss . But hey I guess if you got the time and do this for a hobby great for you but it a waste of time to me.

  5. He did a great job in the attention to detail. For those wondering why he would do this, it serves as two things. 1) Shows his talent and 2) YouTube pays based on views. The channel could reap hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars if it goes viral.
