Refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain Arrives In The Middle East

Almost a year after the official debut of the refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain in March 2021, General Motors has just announced the launch of GMC’s compact crossover in the Middle East. The updated 2022 GMC Terrain lineup arrives in Southwest Asian countries with significant design updates and trim levels that seek to significantly raise the model’s appeal in the region.

The refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain represents the fifth model year of the second-generation crossover and includes a notable makeover, with a completely reimagined front end design comprised of a massive new grille and larger headlights that give it a striking appearance. Additionally, the new model year introduces the first Terrain AT4 with a bold and sporty proposition that will appeal to the more adventurous Middle East customers.

“We are very excited to announce the arrival of the 2022 GMC Terrain. The Middle East region is diverse and versatile, and this is mirrored by our customer demands, which is why we are completing the AT4 line up for GMC with the introduction of the first-ever Terrain AT4,” said Chief Marketing Officer of GM Africa and Middle East, Sharon Nishi, in a statement. “We are confident that the Terrain AT4 will cater to those looking for an adventurous lifestyle,” she added.

Specifically, the refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain arrives in the Middle East with four distinctive trim levels including SLE, SLT, the all-new AT4 trim, and the range-topping Denali. Each one has its own styling details, including the grille design, body moldings and wheels. However, the 2022 Terrain AT4 goes further with front skid plates, unique 17-inch wheels and off-road tires that enhance its capabilities.

All versions of the updated 2022 GMC Terrain for the Middle East maintain the existing powertrain, consisting of the turbocharged 1.5L LYX I-4 engine rated at 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, mated exclusively to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. It’s worth noting that every 2022 Terrain trim in the region includes AWD as standard equipment.

The refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain is now for sale in major Middle East countries, equipped with the latest connectivity features and advanced driving aids that make it one of the most modern models in its segment. The introduction of the AT4 trim level strengthens the Terrain’s position as one of the preferred premium crossovers for regional customers.
