Refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate: More Real-World Pictures

GM Authority has captured more real-world photos of the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate just as it’s set to begin arriving at U.S. dealers sometime this quarter.
The Denali Ultimate is the new range-topping trim level for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500, and is easily identifiable thanks to its exclusive “Vader Chrome” exterior trim and logos as well as standard 22-inch Low Gloss Black wheels (RPO code Q7L).
Apart from exclusive dark chrome trim and wheels, the Denali Ultimate is otherwise similar in appearance to the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra Denali. Out front, it features the refreshed Sierra’s new larger grille, along with C-shaped LED headlights and a redesigned front bumper garnish with chrome tow hooks. We can spot the truck’s power-retractable running boards from the side, while GMC’s MultiPro tailgate, which is standard on the Denali Ultimate, resides out back.
A set of redesigned C-shaped LED taillights flank the six-way tailgate on either side. The dual exhaust setup remains the same as the pre-refresh Sierra 1500, although the cutouts for the CornerStep rear bumper do appear to be slightly smaller on this trim level compared to the 2021 model.
The new Sierra Denali Ultimate comes standard with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and mated to a GM 10-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift, as well as four-wheel drive and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case. Denali Premium Suspension with Adaptive Ride Control is also standard equipment.
Pricing for the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate 1500 starts at $80,395 including destination and freight.

Just got a call from the dealership. GM will not produce the 2022 Sierra Denali Ultimate (I had one reserved). Additionally, super cruise will no longer be available on Sierra. GMC “build and price” page has already updated to reflect these changes.
I haven’t heard anything from the dealership I ordered from. This is the first I heard about GMC not building the Ultimate.
Go check out the GMC page. It confirms what my dealer told me. Ultimate and super cruise option for regular Denali are gone. I’m not happy about this. Oh, and they jacked up the price of the regular Denali to the tune of about 12k
Sorry to report this morning via text my dealer confirms that they have sold out all 2022s and will not take any new orders until 2023. I’m not sure my order was accepted. I doubt it. Will know on Monday oh well time for a raptor?
Meaning your dealer is out of allotments for 2022 or GMC is ceasing production?
Trying to figure out if that means any order that wasn’t submitted as of yet will be delayed OR if they have scheduled all their vehicles for production and luck witless depend on dealer allotment.
Per the dealer when I asked if rumors were true…. “Actually that’s what we were just told in the meeting. All Denali ultimates are sold out. They’ll start production in September for 2023.”
From my dealer which he got from GM:
“The remainder of Q2 production will see this trim (ultimate) at 0%. We are hopeful that by June (Q3) we can resume production of Ultimate without Supercruise and see which SRE customers are willing to remove that option or prefer to wait when it becomes available for 23MY.”
Yesterday May 19th I was informed by the GMC dealer that the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate will not be built in 2022. I have the option of waiting until 2023 for a Denali Ultimate but there will be a price adjustment for a 2023 truck. I have chosen to keep my name on the list for a 2023 Denali Ultimate for January 2023. I don’t mind telling you how frustrating it is to wait this long only to be told, “SORRY” and now have to wait another 8 or 9 months. I hope those of who ordered your trucks you can still get them.
I pulled my order yesterday after being told that truck wouldn’t have Super Cruise. It is frustrating. They still run the Super Cruise commercial. I will wait to see what the price increase is for 2023. More than likely switching to ford. Platinum or Limited.
Was told by my dealer yesterday it’s unlikely the 2023 will have supercruise as well…. Frustrating for sure.
According to the dealer Jan. 2023 is when they will start building the Super cruise again. This is the information GM has told them. Subject to change as always….
I canceled my order 6 weeks ago…
This entire intro was like a big tease. I found a very nice 2022 F-150 King Ranch in Rapid Red with a 5.0 and bought it instead.
Now I’m happy!
I totally get it! GM has poor planning, example: information concern chips were, GM had the opportunity to purchase chips from a short-term supplier which isn’t their normal supply and cost were going to be higher but chose not to. Maybe this is false information, but it seemed like a reliable source. GM was bailed out with taxpayer money and is now owned by an overseas company. I believe we are being forced to buy electric vehicles.
I am more upset by the fact that they keep introducing vehicles and touting Super Cruise (2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate) but they can’t even put it into current offerings. At least on the F-150, the hardware is being installed and then will be updated by OTA updates or dealer updates. The Sierra Denali Ultimate wont even have the hardware.
Just ordered mine (June 1) and the salesman said the super cruise will not be available … due to a shortage of parts.
