Refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse Now On Sale In Colombia

General Motors just introduced the refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse in Colombia, one of the few countries in South America where Chevrolet‘s full-size crossover is marketed. The automaker began selling the 2022 Traverse in the Colombian market without making any official announcement, reinforcing the brand’s utility portfolio in the country.

The refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse arrives in Colombia with notable changes in the exterior design, especially the new front end treatment that gives the crossover greater personality and refinement. Additionally, the fifth model year of the second-generation Traverse introduces a new trim levels lineup for the South American country, as well as increased technology and safety features.

Colombia becomes the first country in South America and one of the few global Chevrolet markets to receive the newly updated 2022 Chevy Traverse. Unlike the rest of the countries in the southern region of the continent, the full-size crossover has a long history in the Colombian market, where the first-generation model was introduced in March 2011.

Notably, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse for Colombia is available in standard LT and sporty RS trim levels. This represents a marked change from the previous model year, when the vehicle was offered in upscale Premier and High Country trims. As such, the new range-topping RS injects a bolder, more imposing character to the model thanks to its blacked-out finish.

Mechanically, both versions of the 2022 Chevy Traverse maintain the same existing configuration made up of the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY engine with an output of 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the two versions of the Traverse that arrive in Colombia come standard with AWD and automatic stop/start technology.

The updated 2022 Chevy Traverse is now available at the Bow Tie brand’s dealer network in Colombia, with units imported from the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan – the only facility that builds this model. It includes Chevrolet’s latest infotainment system with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Rear Camera Mirror and a full suite of safety features on the RS model.

Here are the prices of the refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse in Colombia:

  • 2022 Traverse LT: 179,990,000 COP (about $45,300 USD at the current exchange rate)
  • 2022 Traverse RS: 189,990,000 COP ($47,800 USD)

  1. No wonder dealers in the U.S. can’t get inventory. Besides, how many people in Columbia can afford a $45,000 LT, drug dealers? No wonder GM went broke in 2008.

    1. What a discriminatory comment! You think people in Colombia (not Columbia, ignorant) can’t have a Traverse? This is a small market but GM has been the leader for many years. Renault is now the market leader and GM is fighting to regain the crown. For your information, we have other brands such as Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Volvo, Maserati, Ferrari, Opel, Peugeot, Citroen, Toyota, Renault, Mazda, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Fiat, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Ford, Nissan, Honda, Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia,SSangYong, and many chinese more.

No, not every colombian is a drug dealer. Please, be a little bit more careful with your words.

    3. You are so ignorant, first, Columbia is a District in the United States, we are referring to Colombia. Colombia has one of the most stable economies in the Americas. I am from the USA and people like you make me cringe when traveling internationally or more specifically when i am at my home in COLOMBIA the ignorance of my country voting for and believing in Trump caused me to expand my residences outside the USA! I live in MANIZALES and see more BMW, Mercedes and Audi cars pass my house here than I can count each minute. Chevy have a factory here as well as Chile as the market IS IMPORTANT to GM. Why would you take the time to write and ask such an ignorant statement? The reason you have no car inventory, is due to what we call the GLOBAL economy and supply chain issues! Even GM cars manufactured in the USA rely on parts from other countries, mainly China. Without these parts making it through the disrupted global supply chain, and the disasters created by Trump in thinking the US need not participate in the global marketplace, them compounded by COVID which his mishandling weakened US leadership in controlling an epidemic from turning pandemic. Add to that the inflation issues he started due to his lack of knowledge and pressuring to keep interest rates low … just one small example of his and I am sure yours, ignorance of fact, the world is a big place and the USA, while strong and great, need play well with others. Arrogance only blows up in our faces and makes us suffer in the long run. I am actually annoyed with myself for wasting my time responding to an ignorant mind such as yours!

      1. Sorry, I meant ECUADOR PLANT, Chile was closed as Colombia being a more stable economy at the moment the focus on the Colombian and Ecuador plants make more sense as the market in Colombia continues to grow and Ecuador and Colombia are in the Andean union … thus cars made at that plant are essentially made in market for Colombia.

    2. Another ignorant yahoo that makes me embarrassed they represent 49 percent of my countries thinking! Have you ever been an executive responsible for growth? Growth comes from expanding markets, not hunting in the same grounds that are not expanding. Colombia … NOT COLUMBIA is what a sales executive puts focus and resources in to manage a SUSTAINABLE growth strategic sales plan.

  4. My fiance ordered a 2022 Chev. Traverse High Country six months ago, no word yet on delivery. Did hear the vehicle was manufactured but sitting in a lot probably waiting for a chip. But what about the rain, snow & ice & sun beating on this vehicle when it could be stored in a garage. United States people definitely aren’t first!!!

Will rethink the GM brand before another vehicle is purchased.

  5. I’m still waiting on mine too hasn’t been 6 months it’s been 2. I’m not blaming Colombia I’m blaming GM because they shouldn’t put out more than they can handle. And expect me to pay for a car I don’t even have and still not sure when I’ll even get.

    1. You are correct, they dont have access to parts and chips due to supply chain issues. And, just so all are clear, i am an American living in Colombia, my new Chevy Truck that I had to pay in full is 7 months coming! And yes, Colombians can afford a low end market car such as Chevy, also, BMW, Mercedes, Audi and when needing a reliable vehicle for rough terrain, Toyota Land Cruisers etc. Ignorant MAGA supporter I bet!
