The Redline Edition package for the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 full-size pickup is now available to order, GM Authority has learned.
The Redline Edition, which was previously unavailable to order with the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500, is an optional appearance package offered on the RST trim level only. The package, tagged with RPO code WGQ, includes the following equipment:
- High gloss Black door handles
- High gloss Black grille
- Black tailgate lettering, headlamp dark bezel
- Black with Red outline Silverado emblems for fenders and tailgate
- Black RST badge on tailgate
- Red stripes on outside rearview mirrors
- Black rectangular dual exhaust tips
- Red recovery hooks (RPO UGA)
- 20-inch High gloss Black painted aluminum wheels with Red stripes (RPO RPS)
- Protection Package (RPO WPQ)
- Black assist steps, LPO (RPO RVS)
- Black hood badging (on models with 6.2L V8 and Duramax 3.0L I6 engines only)
This appearance package cannot be ordered with the turbocharged 2.7L I-4 L3B gasoline engine and is thus only available on Chevy Silverado 1500 models equipped with the 5.3L L84 gasoline V8, 6.2L L87 gasoline V8 or Duramax turbo-diesel 3.0L I-6 LM2. It can also only be ordered with either Silver Ice Metallic (paint code GAN), Summit White (paint code GAZ) or Black (paint code GBA) exterior colors. The tailgate graphics will not be included in the Redline Edition package when ordered in conjunction with the optional Multi-Flex Tailgate.
Exterior photos of the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the Redline Package are currently not available, as the online configurator tool for the pickup has yet to go live on the automaker’s website. This tool, which allows users to view the truck in various body styles and specifications and pick their preferred options, is expected to go live on March 3rd.
Production of the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 will begin at the GM Silao Assembly facility in Mexico on February 21st, while the GM Fort Wayne Assembly facility in Indiana will begin building the refreshed truck on March 14th. Production was previously set to begin at the two plants a couple of weeks earlier, however GM pushed the start date back due to the fluid nature of the supply chain and challenging overall market environment. The pickup will also eventually enter production at the GM Oshawa Plant in Canada in the spring of 2022.
Prices for the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 will start at $33,195 including destination and freight charges for the entry-level Work Truck trim level. Pricing for the Redline Edition has not yet been disclosed.
