An Orlando, Florida-based company called Improved Racing has launched a new thermostatic automatic transmission fluid cooler adapter for certain six-speed, eight-speed and ten-speed GM transmissions.
Improved Racing says the built-in thermostat in its new transmission cooler adapter automatically bypasses the transmission cooler until the fluid reaches its usual operating temperature, which “eliminates rough shifts caused by overcooling the transmission,” fluid, the company says, and in turn reducing wear and improving the transmission’s longevity. In short, this adapter allows owners of GM vehicles to run an aftermarket transmission cooler setup without having to worry about overcooling their automatic transmission fluid while they aren’t towing or driving hard on a race track.
“You can now get your transmission up to temp quickly and still have all of the cooling capacity you need for high load activities such as towing or racing,” the company says. “It’s the best of both worlds!”
This product uses the factory GM transmission cooler adapter gasket 6AN female O-ring boss port, allowing for a variety of line sizes and types to be used. The billet alumnum piece is compatible with most GM 6LXX, 8LXX and 10LXX transmissions, including all 45, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 variants and aftermarket certain performance versions. This adapter could be particularly useful for owners of sixth-generation Chevy Camaro or C7 Corvette models with automatic transmissions, who may desire additional transmission cooling during track days. It may also be appealing to GM truck owners for towing purposes.
Improved Racing’s GM automatic transmission fluid cooler adapter can be ordered via the company’s web store now.

Why not make ignitions that don’t Kill your customers….
Just a suggestion.
My 2011 F150 has this feature right from the factory. In addition, it has a transmission temperature gauge as well as a real time display on the information display of fluid temps in a numeric digital readout. Pretty handy for an 11 year old truck.
