The 2022 Chevy Suburban is the second model year of the latest twelfth-generation nameplate, offering just a few small changes and updates as compared to the preceding 2021 Chevy Suburban. Now, GM Authority is diving into the SUV’s towing capacity ratings.
From the off, we should mention that the 2022 Chevy Suburban can be had with one of three different engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. Each of these engines mate to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission, while both four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive are offered to put the power down.
What’s more, additional towing capacity is possible when equipped with the optional Max Trailering Package (RPO code NHT).
So then, let’s take a closer look at the 2022 Chevy Suburban towing capacities:

The article says Suburban but the capacities chart says Tahoe???
Completely different and nothing to do with this article. I was at Macmulkin chevrolet and Cadillac on friday buying parts. Two transport showed up full of Escalades and two tahoes. I’ve only seen this with the c8 delivery there were 6 customers waiting to see their long awaited SUVs come off the truck. They were excited and I dont blame them. Maybe the world is getting better😎.
There is nothing like the excitement of getting a brand new vehicle. The smell the newness. It’s particularly more now. Congratulations to everyone getting their new anything.
What’s the difference, brake controller option is on hold. My 21 order was cancelled due to this,
Anything that can tow a broken-down Ford Transit is fine with me. 😉
Just got my 6.2 22 Burb with NHT delivered this week. Ordered in October. Hooray!
Did your TPW hold? I have a TPW of 2/21. I ordered in October. It is a 2022 High Country Burb with the diesel. Been at 3000 status since the end of january.
Yep as soon as it was set it got done that week. Good luck!
Your chart says Tahoe 🙁
Had a Yukon Denali diesel on order since early September n GM hasn’t even accepted order😩😩!
I have a 2003 suburban 2500 with the 8.1L that has a 12,000lb tow capacity.
So Sad the new ones that cost Way more $$$$ can’t compete….
