As GM Authority covered previously, a variety of Chevy models affected by the global microchip shortage have been offered with limited availability for the heated seats feature. Now, GM Authority has learned that General Motors has resolved the availability issues for heated seats in the 2022 Chevy Colorado pickup truck.
According to GM Authority sources, 2022 Chevy Colorado models produced as of February 21st are once again available with the heated front seats feature. The heated seats feature is tagged with RPO code KA1. Previously, some units of the 2022 Chevy Colorado produced between November 15th and February 21st were built without the heated seats feature due to the global microchip shortage.
What’s more, the 2022 Chevy Colorado’s Luxury Package (RPO code PCK) is once again available. The Luxury Package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Power driver lumbar control (AL9)
- Heated driver and front passenger seats (KA1)
- Heated steering wheel (UVD)
- Single-zone automatic climate control (C68)
- Projector-type headlamps (T3C)
What’s more, with heated seats once again available, the 2022 Chevy Colorado’s heated steering wheel feature is also once again available. The heated steering wheel feature is included and only available with heated seats, or the Luxury Package.
As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Colorado is the eighth model year of the second-generation nameplate, introducing a few small changes for the midsize pickup truck following a light update for the 2021 model year. Engine options include the atmospheric 3.6L LGX V6 gasoline engine, rated at 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, and the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, rated at 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque, is no longer available, as GM Authority covered previously.
Under the body panels, the 2022 Chevy Colorado rides on the GMT 31XX platform. Production takes place at the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri.

Wow just saw the Ranger Raptor,GM better get it right with the Colorado refresh.
The only huge negative is the price of mini Raptor which is 70 grand american.
i’ve test driven a few colorados recently.
anything under a z71 trim now has a basic trip computer that usually was reserved for WTs only.
So LTs now have the same trip computer as a wt.
the trail boss trim is coming incomplete as well. was supposed to include step sides but the ones i’ve seen locally are not including them.
Did you see that the new mini raptor has a twin turbo v6 putting out 390 horsepower.
Any word on a Colorado refresh ??
Yes anyone any word.I just want to see it without the camouflage please !!!!
The chip shortage is alive and well no heated seat in the winter!
Do they have heated seat and heated steering wheel chips available for the 2022 GMC elevations yet.??????
Do they have the chips for my 2022 4xt cadillac heated seats/steering wheel yet. Could certainly use them in this cold michigan weather…
COVID-19 the man made virius is playing the American as well as the world economy like a fiddle… Why use terrorist attacks with weapons when you can wipe out people and their economy with a virus!? Chip shortages, things missing on store shelves, the price of gas skyrocketing, job loss… This was an attack on the global economy and they have us just where they want us. Anyway the Colorado is a nice truck and the Ranger Raptor for $70,000 is to much money and that’s before the dealership inflates it by $10,000.
I was going to wait for the next generation Canyon but didn’t trust their transmission because they didn’t stand behind the torque converter issue in my 2016. Ended up with the Ranger and it is very nice, just takes some getting used to the control layout.
When will my dealership be able to order my extended cab colorado?

When will they start accepting orders for Colorado extended cab ?
Still waiting for chips for my seat heaters 2022 Z71 Colorado. Dealer does not seem to care about it not that I bought the truck!
