As GM Authority covered late last year, several Chevrolet vehicles affected by the global microchip shortage are offered with limited availability of the heated and ventilated seats feature. Now, GM Authority has learned that General Motors has resolved the unavailability issue for the 2022 Chevy Blazer‘s heated and ventilated seats.
It seems as though that the microchip supply is improving, as 2022 Chevy Blazer models will once again offer heated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, and ventilated front seats, beginning with models produced February 21st.
The heated front seats feature is tagged with RPO code KA1, the heated outboard rear seats feature is tagged with RPO code KA6, and the ventilated front seats feature is tagged with RPO code KU9.
Per GM Authority coverage, the availability issues for these features began November 15th. Now, however, units of the 2022 Chevy Blazer produced between November 15th and February 21st will be available for retrofit of the heated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, and ventilated front seats features.
The Chevy Blazer is not the only model affected by limited availability of the heated and ventilated seat features. As covered previously, the Chevy Colorado, Chevy Equinox, Chevy Silverado 1500, Chevy Silverado HD, Chevy Trailblazer, and Chevy Traverse were also affected by reduced availability of these features as a result of the global microchip shortage.
The 2022 Chevy Blazer is the fourth model year of the latest crossover model, arriving with a few updates and changes over the preceding 2021 model year, including the deletion of the base-level L trim level and second-tier 1LT trim level, as well as deletion of the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine.
As such, engine options now include the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine and naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine. The 2022 Chevy Blazer rides on the GM C1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe factory in Mexico.

Let’s not forget the heated steering wheel.
When will the retrofit be started?
I recently bought a 2022 4xt cadillac with heated/vented seats and heating steering wheel which need to be retrofitted with these chips. Please tell me this is included as well.
Thanks
Pam

I recently purchased a Blazer and I still have not received the GM Customer Satisfaction Survey, yet I have been contacted to see if I completed it.
Is there any update on the 2022 Blazer heated seat retrofit?
When will GM start the retrofit of the heated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, and ventilated front seats features???? I called Chevy Customer Support and instead of answering the question or providing any useful information, they took of the responsibility by redirecting me to my dealer who has no idea. This is such a frustrating purchase experience!!!
Would really love to know when the people who have already purchased a vehicle and are still waiting on the chip for heated seats when are we getting them? This is ridiculous almost a year now and no updates as to when but yet newer versions are getting them
We bought our 2022 Blazer Premier in 12/2021 and we are about to head to our second winter with no heated seats and had to go thru the whole summer with no vented seats. GM should at least have the courtesy of providing an ETA.
What ticks me off even more is our sales person didn’t even tell us about it, we called the next week and service department told us the situation and that the salesman was supposed to let us know
They was supposed to give you like 50 or 100 bucks back
