GM China Sales Flat At 2.9 Million Units During 2021 Calendar Year

GM China sales fell a slight 0.3 percent to 2,891,900 units during the complete 2021 calendar year. Sales decreased at the Buick, Chevrolet and Baojun brands, while increasing at Cadillac and Wuling.

In spite of the general decline as a result of the global semiconductor supply chain disruption, General Motors claims that premium models and new energy vehicles across their brands sustained robust growth momentum in 2021 in the Asian country.

“As the challenges brought by the macro environment persisted, we stayed focused on delivering high-quality products and services to satisfy our customers while moving forward on our commitment to create a future of zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion,” said GM Executive Vice President and President of GM China, Julian Blissett, in a statement. “We are optimistic about the outlook for the industry and our performance in 2022,” he added.
