A collector-grade 1993 GMC Typhoon with less than 300 miles on the odometer has been listed for sale via popular online car auction site Bring-A-Trailer.
GMC built just 2,143 examples of its legendary turbocharged SUV for the 1993 model year, with this particular vehicle likely the best-kept and most desirable example of them all. That’s because the original buyer of this GMC Typhoon put just 273 miles on the vehicle in the 28 years they owned it – which we imagine equates to nothing more than delivery miles and the drive home from the dealership. The SUV was originally sold by Kerbeck GMC in New Jersey, a well-known GM storefront that is now known as the world’s largest Corvette dealership, with the buyer agreeing to pay $29,929 all-in. That’s equivalent to a rather steep $58,231 accounting for inflation.
This Typhoon, which is now located in Florida, is perfect in every sense of the word. The body and paint are free of damage or blemishes and the interior is virtually perfect too, save for a few wrinkles in the leather on the front seats. The dealership recently cleaned out the injectors, replaced the battery, installed a new fuel filter and changed the oil, ensuring the turbocharged 4.3L V6 engine comes ready for a spirited backroad drive.
This well-kept GM performance SUV is offered with the original window sticker and paperwork, all original manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report and a clean Pennsylvania title. As expected, the engine bay is clean enough to eat off of, while the underbody is rust-free and looks essentially the same as it did when the car rolled off the assembly line.
Bring-A-Trailer users have responded accordingly to this collector-grade GMC Typhoon, with the listing already attracting more than $60,000 worth of bids with four days left on the auction. We wouldn’t be surprised if this auction extends into the six-figure range before the gavel falls later this week.

OMgosh, it’s beautiful!!! Would definitely buy it!
That inflation number is ironic. That puts my 91 Geo Tracker at $32,000 adjusted for inflation. Ill keep the Tracker
Correction Sam. They built 2200 for 1993. This one WAS #2143. All from the listing on Bring-A-Trailer.
Real nice
This vehicle was designed for spirited driving pleasure plus utility. Interesting that for 30 years it was neither.
