The Chevy Silverado was the best-selling full-size pickup in Mexico during January 2022, outselling all rivals including the Ford F-Series, Ram Pickup and Toyota Tundra.
As GM Authority exclusively reported in our GM Mexico January 2022 sales report earlier this month, General Motors sold 959 units of the Chevy Silverado in Mexico during the first month of 2022. This volume not only represents a remarkable increase of 27.5 percent compared to 752 deliveries during the same month in 2021, but enables the Silverado to outsell each one of its rivals in the Mexican market.
The fact that the Silverado leads the sales charts in its segment is an unusual circumstance in the full-size pickup segment in Mexico, which is typically dominated by either the Ford F-Series and Ram Pickup, which ended 2021 as the best selling model in its segment in the local market. Even so, the Silverado managed to outsell them in January, and by a considerable margin.

From a segment share standpoint, the Silverado took 37 percent of the segment in January 2022, followed by 29 percent for Ram and 24 percent for Ford F-Series. The Silverado’s platform mate, the GMC Sierra, accounted for 10 percent share.
In fact, GM’s sales leadership is further strengthened by an additional 255 units of the GMC Sierra, for a total of 1,214 full-size pickups in January, giving The General a 47 percent share of the segment.

It’s worth noting that the Silverado is technically sold under two nameplates in Mexico: Silverado, which refers to Work Truck models, and Cheyenne, which is the name of higher-spec models of the truck. The Silverado sales figures in this report represent combined sales of both nameplates.
The increase in sales volume during January was supported by significant growth in the Cheyenne line. Although Silverado Work Trucks remained the most popular with 489 sales, the Cheyenne range posted a 167 percent increase to 470 deliveries.
It’s also worth noting that, unlike its rivals, the Chevy Silverado is sold in Mexico only as the 1500 (Light Duty) model.
Up next, Chevy will launch the refreshed 2022 Silverado and Cheyenne range in Mexico during the second quarter of 2022. The updated trucks will make the Bow Tie brand’s offerings even more attractive and promising to continue the solid sales performance throughout the year. As has been the case until today, Silverado and Cheyenne units for Mexico will continue to be manufactured locally at the GM Silao plant, which supplies the domestic market while supporting the high demand for the Silverado in the United States.

I ordered a trail boss on December 16 and still waiting for it getting a little impatient I don’t know why most dealers order short beds it’s a truck not a car
Kerry-probably because most owners haul air in the bed and anything other than a short bed won’t fit in MOST residential garages.
If a full sized truck doesn’t fit in your garage, you need a new garage. California ain’t the place to be. 🙂
You knew it would be a while if you ordered on December 16
Good for GM… now work on being number one on the USA…Kerry most people don’t order the long bed trucks most are 6 foot beds anything bigger probably has to be ordered… remember the pickup truck has become a grocery getter more then a work vehicle.
