Has anyone even seen a Malibu?????
Yes, they are trickling into dealers by me. I’m looking for a blue premier. A dealer few miles from me has a black one.
Still waiting for the RS model with the 2.0T to show up, Oh yeah that is right, they don’t offer it. Guess I will still be waiting.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 When I turned in my 2016 Malibu Premier and picked up my 2020 Malibu Premier on 9/19/19, all the sales people came out to see it when they saw the truck pulling in the dealership because they hadn’t seen one in ages! Of course, Cajun Red with “white” leather interior was a looker! When my previous lease expired, I had already had a 2019 on order, but nothing was happening with the order after over a month. Finally when the salesman checked again there was a message saying order canceled we’re not building anymore 2019 models we’re going to be building 2020 models. My lease was ending in like a month and a half or two months so I had to contact GM Financial to ask about extending my lease and they told me that I could do it two months at a time for up to six months. So, the order for the 2020 model with all options was entered and by the fourth month when nothing was happening and the dealer couldn’t get any information from Chevrolet I decided to take the bull by the horns and I called the factory in Kansas City, Kansas myself! I spoke to the security guard there and explained my problem. He connected me to someone he said that could help me. I had to leave a voicemail message. I had my order number and everything and explained the situation that I only had two more months to go on my current lease because I had already extended it for four months. Several days passed and no return calls. Finally, like three days later my phone rings and it was a lady from GM who said I called my friend in the order department, she pulled your order and the car is going to be made tomorrow. She couldn’t believe how excited I was. I could’ve gotten a different make car, but I basically have had GM cars for decades and saw no reason to switch. She even sent me pictures of my actual car coming down the assembly line in various stages. If it wasn’t for her I probably would not have gotten the car for months later because that’s when General Motors went on strike. Anyway this September 3 years is up and I’m going to buy it because the buyout figure is something like $18,800 and kelly blue book says a private sale would be like $31,000+ so I would be stupid to turn it in. Plus, it just turned 15,000 miles! I’ll keep it for now and see what happens even though I hate to keep cars after the warranty expires. The only problem that I have with it since day one is that my radio changes stations all by itself without touching anything. Doesn’t matter what it’s on AM/FM, XM, iHeartRadio, Alexa you name it. At the time three years ago I didn’t want them taking the whole dash apart to get the radio out, but now that it’s older I’ll take a chance that they can fix it correctly or not even correctly just fix it or replace it and that I won’t end up with a million rattles because the car has been a dream like mostly all my other GM models even the ones that are first year models that they tell you never to buy. I’m guessing that in the future there won’t be any GM cars in my driveway anymore because all they’re selling is SUVs or $100,000 Corvettes or little puddle jumper electric cars. So if I do get rid of the Malibu I’m thinking Toyota Camry XLT. So sad. I have no clue what Mary Barra is thinking.
Hope you have better luck with your Malibu than we did with our 2019 model. Maybe on your 2020 they fixed the faulty shifter position sensor and also the rear suspension clunking noise (due to premature knuckle wear). Both are very common problems.
We were thrilled to turn in that turkey.
Wow! I never had any problems with my 2019 no clunking noises. Not sure what you mean about the Shifter position sensor problem?
