Cadillac Lyriq Will Offer More Colors Following Debut Edition

Customers who ordered the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition will be able to choose from one of two available exterior colors: Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic. However, General Motors will eventually introduce a greater selection of available exterior colors for the Cadillac Lyriq.

While it’s not clear which paint colors General Motors will offer on future Cadillac Lyriq trim levels, spy photos of test prototypes taken by GM Authority may provide us with some indication. So far, we’ve spotted a 2023 Cadillac Lyriq prototype finished in a gloss white exterior color, so it’s likely the vehicle will be offered in Summit White and/or Crystal White Tricoat. Another similar prototype that was recently spotted by a GM fan also had a red-painted tailgate – likely a sign that one of Cadillac’s red exterior hues, which include Garnet Metallic and Infrared Tintcoat, will also eventually be offered.

A few months ago GM Authority even released Cadillac Lyriq renderings with a bunch of different paint colors to see what the crossover would look like.

Looking at the available exterior colors on other current Cadillac products may provide more indication as to which colors will be offered on the Lyriq going forward. Other Cadillac colors that could work well as a Lyriq exterior hues include Wave Metallic, Electric Blue, Blaze Orange Metallic and Shadow Metallic.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will also offer two interior color combinations from launch: Noir and Sky Cool Gray. Just like the available exterior colors, more interior themes will be introduced following the introductory Debut Edition.

The first customer deliveries of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition will commence in a few months’ time. The battery-electric crossover will launch with a 12-module, 100.4 kWh Ultium battery pack, which will send power to a single rear-mounted Ultium Drive electric motor producing a GM estimated 340 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. This setup should provide a GM-estimated 300 miles of driving range on a full charge.

Production of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will commence at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee in Q2. Pricing for the Cadillac Lyriq will start at $59,990 in the U.S., as GM Authority previously reported. Canadian customers, meanwhile, can expect a starting price of $69,898 CAD.

  2. Sometimes a good hint for color offerings is looking at the options for other vehicles produced in the same plant. So XT5/XT6 choices might be an indication of what the Lyriq could get.

  3. I have a Shadow Metallic CT6 and I think that would be a good choice for the Lyriq. Also have a Metallic Phantom Gray CT6 that would be a good choice.

  4. I have 3 GM plug-ins currently, 2 of which have the SILVER color which I hate, but it was the only color available at the particular time of sale. My newest 2022 Bolt EUV bought in June ’21 has one useless option for me, but the car I REALLY wanted had zero options and was the dreaded SILVER….. This one is SKY BLUE so of the 2 cars that the whole dealership group had for sale, so, I chose that one.

I’m Glad that Caddy is quickly releasing more colors other than the 2 humdrum choices initially released.

I like the one motor set up – however – if they have a reasonably priced 150 kwh battery, i’ll pay extra for that option… Supposedly the ‘double decker’ frame is to allow 200 kwh in the trucks and Hummer, as well as allowing series charging at an easier 800 volts direct current.

I’ve never ever used FAST CHARGING period in 11 years of solely EV ownership, but I suppose I will eventually use it with my $500 EVGO charging credit. But 400 volts is plenty fast enough… I would like a 440 mile range, however – especially since it is 300 miles to the nearest EVGO headed east, and its not on a road I’d normally take anyway.

  5. Make mine in metallic black. And powder coat the wheels in gloss black. Reduce any busy-ness that distracts attention from the its beautiful lines – its signature creases and curves.

  6. My only real Gripe is it doesn’t have a Frunk. I am not sure what in the hell these Legacy Automakers are thinking not offering Frunks.
I think I have an idea but it is only a theory….they do not want customers in the Showroom to realize just how much more convenient an EV vehicle is to the ICE versions on the same Showroom. They need to keep selling ICE to make money for the switch. I am willing to bet that once BEV’s take over ICE you will see all Legacy Automakers offering Frunks. We shall see.

    1. I think by the time the sun sets on ICE, long hood frunks as found on Teslas are going to be a thing of the past. EV body design will be more efficient with people room maximized and the remainder of the vehicle minimized. Look for interiors to have changeable capabilities between maximal seating or maximal carrying space.

  7. I have missed the reasoning behind the limited color choices, What is it? Also I think tan will be the other interior color, Black Grey, Tan and a jumble of the three. Not very imaginative or creative choices but this is GM and the usual effortless default position..
