All-New Cadillac IQ Shanghai Kerry Store Opens In China

Following the opening of the new Cadillac IQ Shanghai South Store at the end of 2021, General Motors has just opened a new branch to sell Cadillac‘s fully electric vehicles in China’s largest city. Through its SAIC-GM joint venture, the automaker opened the all-new Cadillac IQ Shanghai Kerry Store in the rapid expansion of the brand’s new EV retail network in the country.

The official opening of the all-new Cadillac IQ Shanghai Kerry Store took place on January 15th in the iconic Chinese city, as a prelude to the arrival of the new Cadillac Lyriq on the Chinese market in the middle of this year. As such, this new store is part of the luxury brand’s new direct sales model in China created to launch and market its upcoming all-electric vehicles.

Notably, the Cadillac IQ Kerry Store becomes Cadillac’s fifth all-electric IQ Space in Shanghai after Cadillac IQ North Bund, Qiantan Delefang, Changning Raffles and South Bealead stores recently opened in the same city. The installation represents the eleventh store in the entire country, where in addition to Shanghai, it currently covers the cities of Hangzhou, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu.

Located in the central business area of Shanghai’s Pudong district, the all-new Cadillac IQ Kerry Store embraces Cadillac’s state-of-the-art architectural design language and new corporate image. It features four distinctive areas for customers to experience the brand, including the Digital Jungle that tells the story of Cadillac, the Time Corridor exhibition area, the Interactive Experience dedicated to music and the Graffiti Experience dedicated to art.

On display in the Time Corridor of the all-new Cadillac IQ Shanghai Kerry Store are three revolutionary vehicles that represent Cadillac’s past, present and future. In addition to the new Cadillac Lyriq as the first all-electric vehicle to embody the present, the classic Cadillac V-16 with the first 16-cylinder engine in history evokes the brand’s glorious past, while the GM Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) showcases the ambitious vision of the future.

2022 GM LRV Concept

The all-new Cadillac IQ Shanghai Kerry Store is now open to the public, aiming to attract potential customers for the first-ever Cadillac Lyriq before it goes on sale on the IQ Space network in the middle of the year. Over the coming months, SAIC-GM will continue to accelerate the expansion of Cadillac’s new EV-only retail network by opening new state-of-the-art stores in more cities across China.
