The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is currently available to view through the Cadillac Live service until March 1st.
On its Instagram page, Cadillac Canada confirmed the battery-electric luxury crossover had returned to its studio after first appearing on the service last fall. Interested Cadillac customers can book an appointment to have a Cadillac Live representative show them around the new EV until March 1st.
Cadillac Live is a service that attempts to replicate the dealership experience online. The service, which is available in both the US and Canada, allows users to book an appointment with a Cadillac representative equipped with a headset and a camera gimbal, allowing them to interact with the user and show them around the vehicles that are located within the Cadillac Live studio. The one-way video feed allows the user to see the Cadillac Live rep only, enabling Cadillac customers to learn more about its vehicles and book an appointment with their local dealership without having to worry about their appearance or leave their home.
Seeing as the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will not arrive in dealerships in very large numbers for quite a while, its addition to Cadillac Live is a great way for interested customers to learn more about the vehicle and get a virtual tour of its exterior and interior. The EV will enter production at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee this spring, with deliveries set to commence shortly after. The Lyriq Debut Edition will launch with only one powertrain option, which consists of a 100.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle producing an estimated 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. More powertrains, including an all-wheel-drive variant, will arrive at a later date.
As GM Authority reported previously, the Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition will launch with only two available exterior colors, Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic. Interior color options will consist of Noir and Sky Cool Gray. Similar to the powertrain, more exterior and interior color options will be added at a later date once production of the Debut Edition has wrapped up.
Pricing for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition will start at $59,990 in the U.S. Canadian customers, meanwhile, can expect a starting price of $69,898 CAD.

The guys at the The Straight Pipes on YouTube recently posted a fairly thorough walk-thru of this exact vehicle from the Cadillac Live Studio. I wouldn’t waste my time scheduling a walk-thru unless you like hearing the rep answer dumb questions like ‘How much does it cost?’ or ‘What’s the range?’
I did find it kind of curious that they chose YouTubers from a mainly ICE-oriented channel like The Straight Pipes instead of folks from the many EV-oriented YouTube channels. The Straight Pipes guys did a fairly decent job if you exclude them looking for exhaust tips (I honestly couldn’t tell if they were joking) and letting a laptop battery die before the stream was done.
GM should work with Video Game devs like “need for Speed” or “Forza Horizon” to get these new EVs on virtual race tracks with similar specs. I think it would be a great marketing tool
Wouldn’t waste my time on this until they start showing the models in different colours other than satin steel or black!
I’m confused with GM and this Ultium rollout. Why just the two colors? Is this why I’ve only seen the GMC Hummer truck in (YUCK 🤮) White?
My husband and I own one Cadillac and have been seriously considering the Lyriq for our next vehicle, but have been very disappointed at the lack of detailed information about it. We attended one of the Cadillac Live sessions, but it didn’t offer any more information than what we had seen online. We would never buy a vehicle that we can’t sit in and check out all of the features and information technology and get answers to questions that may come up while we are checking out the vehicle. I would suggest that GM provide more information online and invest money in a good video that details all of the features that the Lyriq will have before people lose interest and start looking at other EV.
I completely agree Katherine. The marketing for this vehicle has been abysmal. They’ve been showing this same car to journalists for almost 6 months. This studio car is literally dying as the LED screen no longer appears to be working on it. It is even a bit ironic considering that no one has been allowed to touch the screen.
A month ago, they supposedly showed cars coming off of the assembly line. Why weren’t any of those cars sent to the Cadillac Live studio or to the Chicago or Portland Auto Shows? Considering that the Lyriq is supposed to start shipping before the end of the month, not a single journalist has driven or had unrestricted access to one.
Meanwhile, Ford F-150 Lightning reservation owners are getting build dates for May 2022. The Lightning was announced 9 months after the Lyriq and has been at every auto show since its announcement. As a Lyriq reservation holder, I unfortunately have had to start looking for backup options. My excitement for the Lyriq is starting to wane and be replaced by concern that Cadillac is hiding something.
Cadillac really needs to start showing that the Lyriq is more than a mock-up that photographs well and is a real drive-able vehicle (with a working charge door) supposedly coming to driveways very soon. On the other hand, if marketing thinks that over-dressed millennial mannequins posing with this car in TikTok style ads is what is needed, I think they may be surprised to find that those folks take Ubers instead of buy Cadillacs.
We’ve had the same questions. The Cadillac Live session that we attended was using a pre-production Lyriq. They should be flooding the market with information on the production model of the Lyriq. It has made us question WHY? We love our current Cadillac and have no intention of getting rid of it or trading it in. That is why we were so interested in the Lyriq. We are in no hurry to get one, but if we don’t begin seeing more updated information, we may start researching other EVs.
I totally agree with both e.blue and Kathy, However, Cadillac has been advertising the Lyriq ever since the Super Bowl 2021, well over a year ago. GM has been so slow in coming out with this Lyriq EV that we just got tired of waiting and bought a Kia EV6 Wind model which gets 310 miles of range and has V2L (Vehicle To Load) technology which allows you to plug in almost anything to either the standard household plug (110v 16 amp) located under the back seat or a plug converter that you plug into the J1772 plug outside the car which allows you to plug in any standard 110v device rated at 16 amps or less. You can actually charge another EV at level 1 (12 amps) using this device. GM has not announced anything like this feature in the Lyriq. Also, the EV6 GT level gives you a view of your blind spot right on the dashboard screen when you turn the right or left blinker on. Oh, and the Kia EV6 (as well as the Hyundai Ioniq 5) charges from 10% to 80% (217 miles) in 18 minutes at a 350 kW charging station. That is faster than the Lyriq at 76 miles in 10 minutes which comes out to 137 miles in 18 minutes (10% to 56% assuming the Lyriq gets 300 miles of range)). The Lyriq’s maximum charge rate is 190 kW, but the Kia EV6 maximum charge rate is 240 kW. Also, with the Kia EV6 you get 1000kW (4000 miles) of free charging over 3 years at any Electrify America charging station. GM’s Lyriq is already way behind the times. Oh and the Kia EV6 Wind GT model only cost $51,000 not $59,990. And the warranty is better than GM’s.
