The GMC Terrain has dropped three paint colors from its order book for the remainder of the 2022 model year, GM Authority has learned.
The following three paint colors (paint codes listed in parentheses) are no longer available to order on the 2022 GMC Terrain:
- Quicksilver Metallic (paint code GAN)
- Cayenne Red Tintcoat (paint code GSK)
- Hunter Metallic (paint code GED)
It’s currently unclear if any of these colors will return to the GMC Terrain’s color palette for the 2023 model year, or if they will be indirectly replaced by new exterior colors.
When they were still available to order, Quick Silver Metallic and Hunter Metallic carried a price premium of $495, while Cayenne Red Tintcoat added $645 to the vehicle’s price tag. Quicksilver Metallic and Hunter Metallic were available across all trim levels, while Hunter Metallic was only offered on the range-topping Denali trim level.
Quicksilver Metallic was available to order in conjunction with all three interior colors available for the GMC Terrain, which include:
- Jet Black
- Medium Ash Gray / Jet Black
- Light Platinum / Dark Galvanized
Meanwhile, Cayenne Red Tintcoat was available with the Jet Black and Medium Ash Gray/Jet Black interior colors, but not the Light Platinum/Dark Galvanized combination. Finally, Hunter Metallic was available with the Jet Black and Light Platinum/Dark Galvanized interior combo, but not Medium Ash Gray/Jet Black.
Strangely, Cayenne Red Tintcoat and Hunter Metallic were introduced as all-new colors on the GMC Terrain for the 2022 model year. It’s therefore a bit surprising to see that they’ve dropped them after less than one full year of production.
The 2022 GMC Terrain comes standard with a turbocharged 1.5L LYX I-4 engine rated at 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, mated exclusively to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive optional.

GM: You lose Quartz Red.
Me: OK, I’ll consider Cayenne Red
GM: No, you lose that too.
Me: OK, I’ll consider…
GM: No, you lose that as well.
Me: …
GM: That too. Don’t even think about it.
How are they delivering their paint? All of their paint just keeps falling off their delivery truck. Then GM announces “we just lost another delivery of paint”. Well, go out and look for it wherever it was lost.
Who cares about the terrain anymore. Garbage under powered engines combined with an ugly design. The prior styles had a look their own, it was unique. Nowadays everything looks the same,.I think is see a new GM nope it’s something.else… The.only thing they did get right was not putting that silver “skid plate” plastic trim garbage on the front and back like they did on the LT trim Blazers.
Sooo now what, when I ordered a Terrain Denali in Hunter Metalic back in June, will we get it in that color?
Never mind dropping the colours they should drop the tiny 1.5 engine and bring back the 2.0 l engine that people liked specially in the Denali trim !!
So now the only colors offered are the rental grade black and white and a single shade of blue. Nothing else. Pathetic.
Yes – 2 whites and sand and gray – you really can’t make this stuff up!
Can’t believe they dropped the 2.0 liter engine.
GM you have gotten to the bottom of the barrell! Why don’t you just make black ext/int with a crappy engine and no options or choices for anything! I am sure you didn’t lower the price! So my hope of ever going back to a terrain is gone!!!
