The 2022 GMC Canyon is the eighth model year of the second-generation pickup truck, arriving with only a few minor changes compared to the preceding 2021 model year. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 GMC Canyon’s Interior Protection Package is currently unavailable to order.
The Interior Protection Package for the 2022 GMC Canyon is tagged with RPO code PDH, and was previously offered as an LPO-level option, which means it was installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle was initially produced.
The content of the 2022 GMC Canyon’s Interior Protection Package included (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- All-weather floor mats (VAV)
- Rubber bed mat (VBR)
Each of these items cannot be ordered separately.
The 2022 GMC Canyon’s Interior Protection Package was previously offered as an optional extra for all trim levels except the range-topping Denali. Pricing was set at $275. For now, the package is unavailable until further notice.
Notably, the Interior Protection Package for several other General Motors nameplates is also currently unavailable to order. This includes the 2022 GMC Terrain, the 2022 Chevy Colorado, the 2022 Chevy Equinox, and the 2022 Buick Envision.
The 2022 GMC Canyon is currently available to order with two engine options, namely the naturally aspirated 3.6L LGX V6, rated at 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, connecting to the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, as well as the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, connecting to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are available.
As GM Authority covered previously, the 2022 GMC Canyon is no longer available to order with the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine.
Under the skin, the 2022 GMC Canyon rides on the GMT 31XX platform, while production takes place at the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri.
