The 2022 GMC Canyon is the eighth model year of the second-generation pickup, arriving with a few changes and updates over the lightly updated 2021 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 GMC Canyon is no longer available with the optional bedliner with storage components.
The feature in question is officially called the Bedliner with Integral Storage Compartments, and is tagged with RPO code 5VQ. The Bedliner with Integral Storage Compartments was previously available as a LPO-level option, which means it was installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle was initially produced.
The Bedliner with Integral Storage Compartments feature for the 2022 GMC Canyon was available on all trim levels with the exception of Denali. The feature was also not available on 2022 GMC Canyon AT4 trim levels equipped with the AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition Package (RPO code PEB).
Although the Bedliner with Integral Storage Compartments feature is no longer offered, the Spray-on Bedliner (RPO code CGN) and Rubber bed mat (RPO code VBR) are still offered. The Spray-on Bedliner is priced at $475, while the Rubber bed mat is $150.
As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Canyon is available with two engine options, specifically the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, rated at 308 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 275 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, and the 2.8L I4 LWN turbo-diesel Duramax engine, rated at 181 horsepower at 3,400 rpm and 369 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. The naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, rated at 200 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm, is no longer offered, as GM Authority covered previously.
As for transmission, the 3.6L V6 LGZ connects to the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, while the 2.8L I4 LWN connects to the GM six-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin, the 2022 Canyon rides on the GMT 31XX platform, while production takes place at the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri.

People bought these?
One year as of March first. and still have not found a double cab v8 4×4 with max trailer package. My 2015 GMC had it and it was great towing my Jayco HT.No luck with GM,Ford.Dodge..I quess people have to know what this package is.my 2018 does not have and I will not buy a new one without it.
The reason for buying the 1500 is the 18 mpg around town and what it is used for.
