The 2022 Corvette arrives as the third model year of the mid-engine Chevy Corvette C8, debuting the new limited-run 2022 Corvette IMSA GTLM Championship Edition, plus a few changes and updates over the preceding 2021 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 Corvette is available to order with optional Carbon Fiber Outside Mirror Covers.
The optional Outside mirror covers in visible Carbon Fiber are tagged with RPO code 5JR, and are offered as an LPO-level option, which means they are delivered to and installed by the dealer rather than installed at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced.
The carbon fiber mirror covers were previously available for the 2020 Corvette and 2021 Corvette, but were unavailable for the 2022 Corvette. Now, however, Outside mirror covers in visible Carbon Fiber are available to order for the 2022 Corvette as of February 7th.
The Outside mirror covers in visible Carbon Fiber are available on all trim levels of the 2022 Corvette. Pricing for the optional upgrade is set at $1,285. The set includes two mirror covers, one for the driver’s side and one for the passenger’s side, both of which get a composite finish that enhances the look of the sports car with a customized vibe.
As GM Authority covered previously, the 2022 Corvette is also now available to order with the Visible Carbon Fiber Grille Insert.
Additional updates for the 2022 model year include the addition of three new exterior colors, namely Caffeine Metallic, Hypersonic Gray Metallic, and Amplify Orange Tintcoat.
As a reminder, the C8 Corvette Stingray is motivated by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, which is rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. Output is sent to the rear axle through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, with production taking place at the GM Bowling Green facility in Kentucky. Under the skin is the Y2 platform.

Still can’t get exciting about paying crazy prices for carbon fiber add ons
Ditto
$100 for carbon flash is good enough for me
I’ll take the carbon flash
Yeah! I know, but CF looks good. The CF Mirrors weren’t available when my order was submitted. My Target Production Week was 1/31/2022. Maybe I can still add them.
Just hold on awhile, the aftermarket will have them for at least halve the cost. Give em six months or less.
1285????? Come on!!!!!!!!
