The Performance Data Recorder system for the 2022 Chevy Camaro sports coupe is currently unavailable to order, GM Authority has learned.
The Performance Data Recorder, also known as the PDR, is an integrated onboard camera system developed by Cosworth that allows users to record a high-definition video of their driving experiences with the option to add a telemetry overlay on top of the footage. The system is also capable of using GPS to map a track or autocross course, which is used for recording session times at new venues, and recording and storing data related to driver inputs for the user to review and analyze after a track day or hotlapping session. The PDR is an optional feature on the 2022 Chevy Camaro SS and ZL1 and is also available on other high-end GM performance cars like the C8 Corvette Stingray and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.
Due to current production constraints, the PDR system (RPO code UQT) is soon be unavailable to order with the 2022 Chevy Camaro. It’s understood GM will prioritize any stock it does have access to for orders that have already been processed and sold by dealers. It’s currently unclear when the PDR will be re-added to the Chevy Camaro’s order books. While we cannot confirm this change is a direct result of the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage, it does seem likely, seeing as the PDR is a rather complex electronic part that comprises components like a GPS system, a camera and a processing computer.
As GM Authority reported recently, the optional Shock and Steel Edition package for the 2022 Chevy Camaro is now available to order following a temporary supply constraint. The Shock and Steel Edition package adds various cosmetic add-ons to the car and is typically available with 2LT, 3LT and 2SS trim levels in both Coupe and Convertible body styles.
We’ll provide an update on the PDR constraints for the 2022 Chevy Camaro once new information becomes available.

it is an ugly car to see… in positive area, see none here, hope never see one in streets
It might be ugly to some but the right equipped car in capable hands is a performance bargain .
Love my ZL1 camaro it’s a great car
GM continues to completely gut the options catalog of the Camaro; a deliberate play on the way to discontinuing the car. They’ll cry “Camaro just isn’t attracting buyers anymore.” When in the end, it is them to blame for failing to continue improving, refining and making the car more attractive to pony car/muscle car buyers.
The real question is what GM car represents Nascar when they kill off Camaro?
I ordered a 2022 ZL1 to replace my 2017 that was destroyed by a teenager driving an old Camry. Placed the order in the system in early June 2021 but still no word on when it will be built??? Waited a long time to buy my 2017 and I loved the car! Never drove her in the rain! I would really like to know how to find out the status of my 2022!
Anybody saying the Camaro is ugly is insane!!! Sorry, there has never been an ugly Camaro or Firebird!!!
On a sidenote IMO it’s the last stand for the WRX in the US. All 3 muscle coupes outsell Japanese sports vehicles by a wide margin even with the CV19 shortages. the Supra and GR86 don’t sell much in the US and I doubt the upcoming Integra will do much..
Yeah, but the new Nissan Z is right around the corner and likely starting around $40,000 with 400HP and 500lbs lighter. That car will definitely be a direct contender with the Camaro and other pony/sport cars. I’m waiting on my 2022 2SS 1LE ( should arrive this week). Got to support old fashioned American muscle when I can.
I have a 2020 ZL1 with PDR. I just love this car. My first Camaro was a new 1967 that I bought when I was in the Navy, loved that car too. Camaro is a great car.
I love my camero convertible. It’s a nice car. I am on my second and want a third. Anyone who says it is ugly is a crazy.
