The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is now available to order with the Onyx Package after the cosmetic equipment group was removed from the full-size SUV’s order books late last year.
The Onyx Package, tagged with RPO code PDB, is an LPO (or dealer-installed) cosmetic equipment group that gives the Cadillac Escalade a meaner, blacked-out exterior appearance. The package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Monochrome Cadillac emblems (RPO SFZ)
- Gloss Black Escalade nameplate (RPO RIK)
- 22-inch 12-Spoke Gloss Black finish alloy wheels (RPO SSX)
The Onyx Package is available as optional equipment on the Sport and Sport Platinum trim levels. It’s priced at $2,510 for Sport trims and $2,375 for the better-equipped Sport Platinum trims. It’s not entirely clear why it was previously removed, but GM experienced various delays on its accessory 22-inch wheels last year. The Onyx Package includes a set of black 22-inch gloss wheels, which may have impacted the availability of the entire package.
As a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is the second model year of the latest fifth-generation nameplate and is available with two engine options. These include the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, which produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, which produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both of these engines pair with a GM 10-speed automatic and standard rear-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive available for a price premium. Production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
Pricing for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade starts at $76,295 including destination and freight, while the extended-wheelbase Escalade ESV is priced from $79,295 with DFC.

Finally!
I’m just here to see people crying about the “all black” trend
Yes, this is my favorite caddy Escalade package!
I’m just here to see people cry about what others say.
extreme very very ugly and expensive, horrible indeed, car of bank assault from those in ghettos
I’m just here to cry.
I’m just here to see non-buyers complain about how expensive it is
I’m just here so I don’t get fined.
Pass, don’t want to wait 5 years to get one, and pay tens of thousands of dollars over MSRP just to place a order.
GM can cry all they want about dealers charging over MSRP, but there is a lot of animosity for all the lost/cancelled orders of LOYAL customers that were tossed aside. After 4 in a row, and having my confirmed order cancelled, I’m done, and went with a totally different manufacturer. I have a good memory, and do hold a grudge with GM.
wow , would look good with chrome wheels.
What about the radiant package??
