SAIC-GM, General Motors’ main joint venture in China, has just announced the 2022 Cadillac CT5 in the Asian country with a new “Le Mans Orange” color that inherits the brand’s innate track genes. This new midsize sedan’s paint color for the Chinese market pays homage to Cadillac’s return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 with the recently announced all-new Cadillac GTP race car.
The launch of the new 2022 Cadillac CT5 in Le Mans Orange in China comes just days after the brand confirmed its plans to compete again in the world’s top Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) category, scheduled to return starting next year with the fourth-generation Cadillac V-Series Concept. In particular, the vehicle will mark the brand’s return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a 21-year absence.
Specifically, the new Le Mans Orange commemorative color of the Chinese-market 2022 Cadillac CT5 will be exclusive to the Sport and Platinum Sport trim levels, which are the range-topping versions of the model in that country. At first glance, it appears to be the same Blaze Orange Metallic that has just been adopted by the 2022 model year of the sporty sedan in the U.S. market.
SAIC-GM says the 2022 Cadillac CT5 in the new Le Mans Orange color has a visual impact that evokes the brand’s sporting genes, embedded in its latest-generation sedans that combine a luxury experience with an outstanding performance-oriented drive. In fact, the hue was first introduced on the new 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing as the ultimate expression of the brand’s high performance.
On a mechanical level, the 2022 Cadillac CT5 Le Mans Orange edition maintains exactly the same powertrain as the other versions of the model in the Chinese market. This includes the turbocharged 2.0L LSY I-4 engine that generates 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated to GM’s ten-speed automatic transmission, offering a good combination of power and fuel economy.
The 2022 Cadillac CT5 in Le Mans Orange is now available for sale throughout the brand’s dealer network in China, celebrating Cadillac’s return to the most important and iconic race in European motorsports. This new version of the CT5 for the Chinese market adopts more aggressive body moldings and black wheels that give it practically the same appearance as the CT5-V, which Cadillac does not offer in that country.

Great color, makes it easy to find among all the colorless silvers and whites in the parking lot at Walmart.
Send some of these to Australia, we partner up with USA on many things. These cars should be raced on track. Run them at the Bathurst 1000. General Motors Cadillac would sell more. MUCH MORE!!!!!! Running a Cadillac on a Racetrack would spark a lot of interest!!
