The 2022 Cadillac CT5 range gets three new exterior colors: Electric Blue, Dark Emerald Frost, and Blaze Orange Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new orange hue.
Assigned RPO code GCF and touch-up paint code WA-626G, Blaze Orange Metallic is one of ten exterior colors available for the 2022 Cadillac CT5:
- Black Raven
- Crystal White Tricoat
- Diamond Sky Metallic
- Garnet Metallic
- Infrared Tintcoat
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Shadow Metallic
- Summit White
- Wave Metallic
- Blaze Orange Metallic
The Blaze Orange Metallic color is an extra-cost item, adding an additional $625 to the vehicle’s price. The hue is only available on the Sport, CT5-V, and CT5-V Blackwing models, meaning that it’s not offered on Luxury or Premium Luxury trims. In fact, the CT5-V Blackwing was the model to introduce the Blaze Orange hue.
In addition, the color can only be combined with the following interior colorways: Jet Black with Jet Black accents, Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents, and Sangria with Jet Black accents.
Here are all available 2022 Cadillac CT5 interior color combinations:
- Jet Black with Jet Black accents
- Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents
- Sahara Beige with Jet Black accents
- Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents
- Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black accents
- Whisper Beige with Jet Black accents
The 2022 Cadillac CT5 received a few minor changes, with one of the bigger ones being the deletion of three exterior colors – Velocity Red, Evergreen Metallic, and Dark Blue Moon Metallic. These have been indirectly replaced by Blaze Orange Metallic, Dark Emerald Frost, and Electric Blue, respectively.
In addition, the luxury sedan introduces a new Onyx Package, which adds gloss black wheels and various black exterior trim pieces. There’s also a new Radiant Package that gives the car brighter exterior accents. Lastly, GM also added standard wireless phone charging along with more standard active safety features.
The bigger news is the addition of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing ultra-performance model to the lineup. Taking the CT5-V to the next level, the CT5-V Blackwing is powered by GM’s supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine, which produces 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a standard six-speed manual transmission sourced from Tremec, while a GM 10-speed automatic is available as an option. It also features unique front and rear fascias, upgraded chassis and suspension systems, upgraded performance brakes, and two available carbon fiber aero packages.
The 2022 Cadillac CT5 is produced at the GM Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan for all markets except for China, alongside the Cadillac CT4 sedan and the Chevy Camaro muscle car.

That’s not a new color! My ‘04 Pontiac Aztek has that same name color!
The journalists should do a little more homework for their articles, the interior photo is a CT4 V Blackwing, the 5’s interior is different, just put the D in details and it would be more credible.
Mr. Schlafer:
Agreed.
Not a new color, my 2015 Chevy Silverado is the same color!
It’s a new color on the Cadillac ct6… They’re not saying it’s a new car color in general.
No amount of color options will succeed in overcoming the delorable rear quarter treatment and the overall de-tunng of the sharp line style that used to prevail.
“New” color ? Yep = a new color for Cadillac. (doesn’t matter that it was used on a different vehicle before) At least it is not another gray color. How about more bright colors that stand out.
How about putting more microchips into Cadillacs? In the past 3 months I hear nothing excepts pretty Cadillacs colors.
Looks like Texas longhorn burnt orange!
Yesterday’s GMA told of Garnet metallic being discontinued. It’s listed in today’s colors. I thought the frost color was also nixxed. Blaze looks good with the Onyx package.
Joe Booky:
That’s GMA for you.
The opening paragraph says “Dark Emerald Frost” is a new 2022 color for CT5 yet it’s not on the all-colors list just below.
And as you say, Garnet Metallic was reported dropped just a few days ago. Though if it is, no one has told the webmaster @ Cadillac. It’s still one of the colors listed for 2022.
I’m getting colorblind. Waiting for purple to make a comeback. Call it Pimpin’ Purple. It’s a Cadillac.
I have a 2021 Black CT4-V with a sangria interior. Really sharp. I really wanted a green one but 1) it was hard to find and 2) I wish it was more of a British Racing Green. That would be cool.
I have a 2020 ct5 sport that’s blazing orange metallic with maple peanut butter interior and black accents!
