The 2022 Cadillac CT4 is the third model year of the luxury sedan nameplate, introducing just a handful of changes over the 2021 model year, plus the all-new CT4-V Blackwing. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 Cadillac CT4 will no longer be available with a certain exterior paint option.
According to GM Authority sources, the 2022 Cadillac CT4 is no longer available to order in Garnet Metallic paint. Garnet Metallic paint is tagged with paint code GLR, and was previously offered as an optional extra for Cadillac CT4 Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels. Pricing for the paint upgrade was set at $625. Garnet Metallic paint was not available on Cadillac CT4 Sport, CT4-V, or CT4-V Blackwing models.
The paint option has been “built out” for the remainder of the 2022 model year. It’s unclear at this time if Garnet Metallic paint will return for the 2023 Cadillac CT4.
Although the standard 2022 Cadillac CT4 is not terribly different from the 2021 Cadillac CT4, the CT4-V Blackwing is all-new, stuffing the luxury four-door with extra power thanks to the inclusion of the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels by way of either a six-speed manual transmission or 10-speed automatic.
As for the rest of the 2022 Cadillac CT4 lineup, engine options include the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm, as well as the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower 5,500 rpm and 350 pound-feet of torque in Premium Luxury trims, and 325 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 380 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm in the CT4-V. Both engines pair to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Under the skin is the GM Alpha 2 platform, with production taking place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

That’s sad, I think this color looks beautiful on this Caddy.
You’re right. That paint is striking, and makes really enhances the 4. If I was in the market, it would be my choice.
I hope they keep it on the CT5. That and the maple sugar interior might make me trade my XTS. If they don’t scrap the whole model, that is.
That’s the combo of my 21 CT5. Really looks nice.
I verified the CT5 distribution updates, and this does apply to the CT5 as well. I figured that since the CT4 and CT5 come down the same assembly line, that it most likely would be for both. This is unfortunate news, as Garnet with the Maple Sugar interior was my preferred color combination as well. I’m trying to hold out until the end of production is announced in 2023-2024 to order one, so that I can stretch out my gas powered sedan ownership as long as possible, since I’m not interested in driving a SUV/crossover or an EV.
Pour one out – not that this color was super exciting, but most CT4’s (and most GM vehicles) are either Black, Silver or White.
Also it seems the 2.7T isn’t getting the torque upgrade the Silverado is getting.
