2022 Buick Enclave To Get Limited Power-Folding Third-Row Seat Availability

The 2022 Buick Enclave introduces a mid-cycle enhancement (otherwise known as an update or refresh) for the full-size crossover, marking the fourth model year of the second-generation vehicle. Now, the 2022 Buick Enclave is offered with limited availability for the power-folding third-row seat feature.

Units of the 2022 Buick Enclave affected by the limited availability of the power-folding third-row seat feature include those produced on or after January 31st. The affected feature is officially called the Power-folding 60/40 split-folding third row bench seat, and is tagged with RPO code AS8.

The Power-folding 60/40 split-folding third-row bench seat feature was previously equipped as standard on 2022 Buick Enclave Premium and Avenir trim levels. The feature was not offered on the base Essence trim level. Affected vehicles will instead be equipped with a manual-folding 60/40 split-folding third-row bench seat.

As GM Authority covered previously, the Buick Enclave is also affected by limited availability of the heated rear seats feature.

The Buick Enclave crossover was originally slated to receive a model refresh for the 2021 model year. However, as a result of complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was delayed to the 2022 model year.

Updates include revisions to the styling, including a new front fascia with a shield-shaped grille, thin lighting signatures, new taillights, and new alloy wheel designs. Further updates were applied to the interior with a new center console and a push-button starter.

Providing the motivation is a single powerplant option, specifically the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine. Output from the V6 is rated at 310 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 2,800 rpm, all of which is sent through GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available.

  1. After March 1st, Buick will be eliminating the front brakes and rear wheels due to the chip shortage….either build a COMPLETE VEHICLE or stop production….enough of reducing features but not dropping prices significantly instead of a $50 credit and a promise to add back the feature in the 4th quarter

    2. Pretty soon engines will be optional and instead of a $1.50 credit the dealer will cut out the floorboard so we can push around like Fred Flinstone. Watch out for 3rd gear though as I hear there is a recall in the works.
