Super Bowl LVI is to take place next month on Sunday, February 13th, and, for the third consecutive year, GM will run a commercial during the big game. The question is – which model (or models) should GM promote?
As GM Authority covered previously, GM will run at least one television ad during the Super Bowl this year. Last year, General Motors ran three ads, promoting its push into the electric vehicle space, including its latest “Everybody In” tagline, as well as promoting the Cadillac brand. The ads generated a good amount of buzz, in particular with the “No Way, Norway” ad featuring comedian, television, and movie star Will Ferrell, in which he travels to Norway after learning about the Scandinavian country’s particularly high EV adoption rate.
This year, a few other carmakers will also be running Super Bowl ads, including Nissan and Toyota.
So then, the question remains – which models should GM promote during Super Bowl LVI?
There are more than a few options to choose from. One of the most obvious would be the new 2024 Chevy Silverado EV, which GM unveiled earlier this month. Offered as the first all-electric version of the popular pickup nameplate, the Silverado EV feature’s the automaker’s latest Ultium technology and an estimated 400 miles of driving range, and is set to rival the popular Ford F-150 Lightning.
Another possibility is the new 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V SUV. Dropping cover late in January, the Escalade V-Series features the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, the same monster motor found in the third-generation Cadillac CTS-V, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, the Chevy Camaro ZL1, and the C7 Corvette Z06. Peak output figures are still forthcoming, but word has it the performance SUV will dole out at least 640 horsepower.
However, like we said, there are quite a few models to choose from here. A more complete list could also include:

As the Blazer EV is the only vehicle on the list yet to be unveiled I would like to see that for a Super bowl AD.
The blazer would be cool to see, equinox would make sense, it’s the most affordable, Silverado ev is getting one, not the celstiq, they could give the 22 Silverado one, it’s unlikely the escalade v series would get one, that’s hypocritical with a bunch of ev ads, so the last one is a bit of a free for all
The new Equinox and Silverado. The # 1 and 2 in sales.
none
Sedans. Let the people know GM still makes them! I’ve never understood why companies would push/advertise the hottest selling stuff they have.
Silverado EV.
Ford is killing it with the hype and interest around the Lightning. Silverado EV will be a vehicle that GM needs to move in high volume. Sierra Denali EV, Hummer, Celestiq, and Lyriq are all luxury and will sell in smaller volume, high margin markets. As for Equinox and Blazer EV, the timing is too far out on those. We have so little information on them.
Focus on Silverado EV.
Buick because GM itself seems to have firgitten them.
Not the blazer. Not the invasion.
How about promoting vehicles that are made in the USA.
The ones they can actually deliver. . . .
The Refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra and Silverado commercials are already out, but they can show more commercials for the Super Bowl with different Trim Levels to further promote those trucks. A Corvette ZO6 Commercial would be cool to see, Social Media shouldn’t be the only source to advertise such an extraordinary vehicle. gm can do an updated EV Commercial showcasing a combination of the Brightdrop EV600, Hummer EV, Silverado EV and for the first time, a reveal of the GMC Sierra EV along with a “Flash” scene of future EV’s that will be introduced in the near or distant future.
Camaro ZL1 and camaro ZL1-1Le. Some real power commercials. Might improve sales! Do a good burnout 😂 😂.
It’s only $5.6 million dollars for a 30 second ad this year so gm should waste tons of money on promoting vehicles and rebates that don’t exist because that makes the most sense.
It should be both the Blazer and Equinox but it’ll probably be the Lyriq and Silverado.
Any truck you cannot buy, ha
They should air a commercial telling all their customers that they are going to fix the 8 speed tranny issues and lifter issues.
They should make a commercial that shows a bolt parked 50ft from someone’s house and it all of a sudden bursts into flames then show someone putting their key into the ignition switch and say we make killer vehicles buy from us.
Save your money! I would steer clear at those prices plus other things
They should avoid a specific vehicle. Instead how about some commercials about giving back to all the hard workers in their supply chain and plants holding it down during the last few years.
Zr/2-AT-4 diesel. Oh that’s right, I can’t have that!
GMC Sierra Ultimare Denali
There’s already a Commercial out for that particular model, but I get what your saying ” Show More”….I understand.
How about an ev version of the chinese buick encore? Small crossover or even a sedan. Something to compete with say the Hyundai Ioniq 5? GM is missing huge opportunity by ignoring the smaller space..imho
Blackwing. Really, what difference does it make because the lots are empty.
Yep. Looks like 2022 is a repeat of 2021 :/
They should have a commercial showing production line workers being trained to code so that they have a career option when the EV revolution results in downsizing. Otherwise, Michael Moore will be more than happy to make “Mary & Me”.
How about sharing how everything is now made for China and not for the U.S. market. Like full-sized luxury sedans that are not a pie in the sky $200K Celestiq.
Promote the Corvette and give us something to look forward to, not the crap that is on the market now with the CUV/SUV/mall crawling/EV junk and the econo-boxes that all look the same.
Or save the money and make it part of Mary’s severance package.
blazer, equinox, silverado in that order or all of them!
Save the money and invest in much better quality vehicles.
Ignoring the Super Bowl has not hurt Honda.
The Cadillac CT4 or CT5 Blackwing.
I would like to see a GM commercial announcing the return in 2023 of a Chev Impala. Yes the vehicle considered by many as the Flagship of Chevrolet. The return of the sedan for the loyal customers of GM over the decades, to let them know GM listened and wants to keep their business.
GM has no loyalty to us, but expects us to be loyal to them.
The final Camaro!
I would really promote the 2022 Equinox emphasizing the various safety features such as automatic braking. Electric vehicles may be the cars of the future but you really need to greatly increase sales now after two lean years because of chip shortages. It will be some time before there are sufficient charging stations located around the country to make travel practical. Also, because of the many problems that GM has had with batteries, it will be some time before a positive confidence level exists in them. The Equinox gives you the best chance to increase your short term profits.
Cancel the ad and put the millions into quality control and working on the lack of parts needed to build the products.
Nobody wants to see ads for vehicles that the company can not even deliver. Who makes these stupid decisions ?
The return of the Buick Regal SEDAN!!! Made ANYWHERE but the land of COVID-19; propoganda; censorship; repression; labor camps; “re-education” camps; authoritarianism; expansionism; worldwide dominance; genocide; etc. Gee, sounds a bit like America these days. Enjoy those CCP Olympics & the “woke” ignorant American Corporations “clever” ads.
Since the Silverado and Equinox are closest to reality I think they should advertise those two with emphasis on the new battery and range.
Camaro ZL1, or even ANY model Camaro! No advertisements whatsoever on them, then GM cries about not selling enough!
True!!
Show American Pride
camaro, since theyve yet to promote the 6th gen any 🙂
How about promoting models you can actually buy, my local GM dealer is nearly empty.
How about one’s they can build and deliver this year? Been waiting 9 months for my 2021 Denali 1500.
The ones with a functioning transmission…oh wait.
Non of those they aren’t coming this year it’s football it should be a truck 2023 chevy colorado zr2
