Three optional chrome 22-inch wheels available on the 2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are currently unavailable to order, GM Authority has learned.
The LPO-level, dealer-installed wheels that are currently unavailable on the 2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL include the following models (RPO code listed in parentheses):
- 22-inch Bright Chrome wheels, LPO (SF1)
- 22-inch Multi-split spoke Chrome wheels, LPO (SSW)
- 22-inch Multi-spoke Chrome wheels, LPO (SSI)
These wheels are typically optional on all 2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL trim levels – save for the off-road-ready AT4.
This change was also recently applied to the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban mode lines. It’s not clear why these wheels are unavailable to order, however GM has experienced consistent supply issues with certain 22-inch wheels since early last year. As GM Authority reported previously, the supply issues were tied to shipping delays, with many 22-inch wheels left in boxes at the port of Los Angeles as they waited to clear customs from China. It’s unclear if this situation has persisted to delay these chrome wheels, or if another problem is behind this latest backlog.
Just as with the Tahoe and Suburban, two of the wheels that are currently unavailable to order, RPO SSW and RPO SSI, were just recently added to the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL order books for the 2022 model year. Three other wheel options were also added to the order books along with the two chrome 22-inch units, including a multi-spoke gloss black 22-inch set (RPO SRV) a gloss black 22-inch set with selective machining (RPO SRL) and a 20-inch multi-spoke gloss black set (RPO SEM).
As previously reported by GM Authority, the 2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL went into production on October 4th at the GM Arlington Assembly plant in Texas.
